Been wanting to debate Shino (Or Kiba) versus Neji for a minute tbh, but this all you dawg! Shino underrated af. Haven't seen Drae debate for Neji in a cool minute, this'll be good if he shows up.

I would assume Neji wins. While he cannot dodge the bugs physically (not many people can if you look at the facts) Neji's one body blow or Kaiten should blow them away, no? Bug feints are seen through via Byakugan, so no blindsiding like he did VS Kankuro and again, all bugs are removed via one body blow/Kaiten.

Would love to see arguments for Shino. What can he do here?

The Aburame fight using their surroundings, and giving him the forest is like sending Neji straight to his grave, as Neji is strictly a single target fighter with the exception of Kaiten giving him only one wide-range technique which doesn't even counter Shino's bugs! Neji overall has to worry about Three things: I. You must be registered for see links II. You must be registered for see links III. Now imagine in the forest of death, a much bigger terrain, Shino would be able to spread his Kikaichū even further, not to mention the sheer speed of the Kikaichū, You must be registered for see links ! The main thing I want to get across though is that, sure Byakugan is able to see nearly 360 degrees, but what's the point of having such insight, when your overall battle capabilities are limited by a fighting style such as Shinos! It's utterly useless! Kaiten K-K-Kountered!​ Kaiten is one dangerous ass jutsu for those unprepared, but thankfully, Shino is always prepared! This guy has an ace, in an ace, in an ace, literally the Batman of Naruto! Kaiten is chakra emitted from the users chakra points, which develops a rotating momentum once the user starts to spin. This is nothing to Shino literally guys, Shino's insects You must be registered for see links from You must be registered for see links in seconds which has a huge range, and is more pressurized than Kaiten! What's even more astonishing is that the You must be registered for see links , seemingly unharmed, which furthermore proves their chakra eating speed is FAST, and that they're abnormally durable! Against Kaiten, the insects would simply need to swarn Neji once Kaiten has been used, and attach themselves to the solidified chakra (Kaiten is solidified as seen how it literally reflects objects, and what not!). Something along the lines of this would form: You must be registered for see images Neji would have two options, both countering Kaiten, and leaving him to die: I. Keep Kaiten going - wasting chakra/feeding the insects making them reproduce more. II. Deactive Kaiten, then get swarmed by thousands of hungry insects! Either way Neji would be eaten alive here! Byakugan Inefficient | Kikaichū's Overlooked Feat​ Shino's bugs are severely underrated guys! Ace in the Hole!​ Adding on to the previous section regarding the Kikaichū eating through Neji's flesh, the Kikaichū could easily be replaced by Shino's newest parasite, the Kidaichū! Kidaichū — Mushikui Treacherous parasitic insects enlarge inside the host and bit holes through them! The body and chakra are food for the parasites, the jutsu causes them to bite a hole in the enemy and enlarge. Their teeth sink into the target's chakra, death is brought about when occupied by unusual parasitic insects,the targets internal body and chakra are eaten by large parasitic insects, in the interior of the body they grow to adult hood. Treatment is complicated, jutsu user himself consumes ferocious bugs. versus the Juubi's colossal chakra, Shino's parasitic insects are released, a parasitic bunshin brought about death by biting holes in it's flesh. Large parasitic insects, as the opponents chakra is leeched off of (parasitism) at high speed the bugs grow to adult hood at alarming speed. Upon applying either action I or II against Neji, the kidaichū would bury itself into Neji, then feed off of both his insides, and chakra increasing in size with every bite, until either - You must be registered for see links .
