Preta Path has.

In the movie, Hiruko tried to absorb and replicate rasenshuriken but he couldn't get the balance of ki and elemental chakra right. So the technique kept failing. He absorbed odama rasengan and raikiri no trouble though.

Preta Path is better at absorbing jutsus, and restores the user's chakra, but Dark release lets the user replicate the absorbed technique, and even amplify it into a stronger jutsu. They are both useful, but overall preta path is better.
