They are equal in power as it is in canon. Rasengan is better in the sense that it self-sustains, doesn't have a nature, and doesn't actually touch the hand.

Rasengan is superior to chidori. Both users know this.

Chidori requires constant chakra emission while rasengan is self sustaining.

All of chidori's variants are weaker then original, on the flip side all of rasengan's variants are stronger than original.

State all the info and without excluding what you don't like when discussing Facts.

It was a Kyuubi Rasengan.

Kyuubi rasengan? Didn't sasuke just take the kyuubi's chakra tho? Wouldn't that make it kyuubi ama chidori? Lol

I like to point out something that most members are missing, Rasengan is a incomplete jutsu, that is stated by Kakashi. Rasengan is the highest level of chakra manipulation, while it doesn't have element nature.

When Naruto combined his wind element to Rasengan to make Rasenshuriken, that became the complete rasengan.

Rasengan = Chidori
Wind Rasengan > Chidori
Rasenshuriken >> Chidori

As for Sasuke using Chidori + Amaterasu, Naruto Rasengan didn't look like it was enhanced by Kurama power or Wind element or natural energy.

Yes. Go and reread the first part.

Ok, so why don't Kakashi use Chidori instead of Rakiri directly ?

"The Lightning Cutter is an enhanced and concentrated form of the Chidori with the same effects and drawbacks. "

Can't be more explicit. Maybe I'll change my ranks but Chidori are not exactly the same. I am both right and wrong.

Well if we go by Rank here what we have

Chidori A Rank = Rasengan A Rank
Chidori A Rank < Wind Rasengan S Rank
Rakiri S Rank = Wind Rasengan S Rank
Rakiri S Rank < Rasenshuriken beyond S rank stated by Kakashi in rank

Remember this

What are you taking about wind > lightning. Wind rasengan will always be stronger than chidori /raikiri

Sorry mate , but rasengan was never shown to be equal to chidori , rasengan was always superior even as a incomplete jutsu

I think Rasengan is better than chidori. back in part one, even kakashi said he could only use chidori like 5 times a day and sasuke was only able to do it twice. Naruto used rasengan whenever he wants too. Plus u could add lightning release to the rasengan if that was your nature type and you can throw the rasengan and whatever. Chidori is just chidori.

Yea depends on the user in general combat. Naruto and Sasuke stalemated so many times it must be clear that they're equal when used by said people against each other.

Remember back in Part 1, when chidori had limits per use?
For Kakashi it was 4x a day, and Sasuke it was 2x a day?

Boruto would be better learning rasengan, instead of chakra guzzling chidori.

Kabuto had to start healing early just so Narutos small Rasengan didn't kill him.

Sm Naruto killed one of the pains inside gamabuntas mouth with a Rasengan

Jaraiya killed a path also with a small Rasengan

Question. How do you kill something that wasn't alive to begin with? He immobilized the bodies, not killed them

Chidori, if you have good chakra control, you can throw like senbon, or transfer it to all around your body, extend its reach, etc... Don't include Rasengan variants and perks of you ain't gonna include Chidori variants and perks

It's an S-rank, or Secret Jutsu according to the Databook. S rank doesn't mean 'Super Difficult or Super Awesome or Super Power'. Raikiri is a nickname that was given to Kakashi's Chidori. It literally translates into Lightning cutter. It's the exact same thing according to the manga.

Just to make things clear, there was a good reason why naruto had to match kurama's chakra to every SA member based on the ninja. Sasuke was using chakra that wasn't fit for him, causing his jutsu power to be seriously weaker. Hence, he uses amateratsu to give his chidori the power it lost. The reason they both lost a arm is because, they have never been that weak when they clashed with everything they have left. Both rasengan and chidori are A rank moves, both are difficult to learn and both are capable of ending someone's life.
Sasuke can manipulate chakra to fit him though. That's how he was able to collect chakra from all 9 tailed beasts and use it for his techniques.

I dont think its better, since when both jutsu collided it was always the same story: a draw. But let me tell you this: If Minato hit Obito with Chidori instead of Rasengan, the latter would be probably dead, or at least very badly hurt.

Let me answer your question with another question. Did Obito die when Kakashi hit him with a Raikiri?
