I dont think it makes sense to think that there is no logic in things that u have not examined yourself, Some traditions may be practical or even humbling

I find ppl that feel that they have nothing to learn from the past or ppl from a different way of life stupid though.

Yes,all culture is created to unite people to wards some common goal which benefits only certain group of people.
Religion,government,pop culture all are selfish in nature,they are trying to brain wash us through our parents who were already brainwashed by their ancestors.
Collectivism is like a group of crabs put inside a pot,when 1 crab almost climbs out of the pot,other crabs will drag that 1 crab down.
Individualism is great but don't live selfish like those Yolo people,Yolo was probably created by Monsanto.
Celebration's like Christmas,Birthday,Valentines day (created to sell almost expiry chocolate before new batch is created) are created so you will give your money to buy some corporations products which only gives temporary happiness like firecrackers,birth day cards.

But some cultures have built-in mechanisms for self-reflection and revision. Those ones at least have a chance to develop acceptance or even adoption of elements of other cultures.
