No, the staff and titles for 420, 421, 422 will be released around August 7th or 10th at the latest

I only know that Studio Pierrot is in charge of this episode, I don't know who they choose to direct it yet... that's why I can't say if it will be average or great, it could be either one

Now, from @animeblue (known as blue sakuga on youtube), there will be no episodes on the 16th of july. This is when episode 420 was supposed to be released. She's a rather reliable source when it comes to news like these as she constantly talks with the director of the anime on twitter (known as @pikachu555 on twitter).

Now granted, this is still a rumor for the moment as there are no official announcement (she didn't link to any websites) but, I'll take her word

She was right for the schedule up until episode 419 so, she's pretty legit I'll say ^^

Could this mean a double episode? I mean, if that were the case, we could get the entire gai vs madara fight with the naruto/sage conversation in one double episode and supposedly animated by the main studio (studio periot). This is just an assumption though. That would be a total of 4 chapters: Chapters 669 up to 672 (the end of the fight). It would be possible to do.

Oh yes July not August...

July 2 is a single episode (#420. July 9 and 16 is still not official as far as I know. We should get a double episode at some point, but it won't be for Madara vs Gai (unless 420 turns out to be more surprise filler)

It's not just Pierrot or Naruto, *all* long-running series outsource about 50% of their episodes. That's because it's not possible for a single studio to constantly pump out hundreds and hundreds of episodes non stop.

Naruto (640 episodes and counting, 11 movies, 11 OVA's, many game cutscenes
One Piece (516 episodes and counting)
Pokemon (850 episodes and counting)
Detective Conan (784 episodes and counting)
Bleach (366 episodes, and chances are it will continue when Naruto is over)

Even Hunter x Hunter 2011 had about 50% outsourced episodes, but with the series being only 147 episodes they could afford some better outsourced teams.

I see, well you are always greatly informed about the anime so I trust your words to be of the truth. But damn, so judging by what you said, it all boils down to which studio has the most budget. I still don't understand how that could've been a huge impediment for Pierrot though considering the money they should've received from all Naruto merchandise. :eww: Nevermind, I guess its really too late to say all of this now anyway especially since the anime is almost over now. I've lost all hope in Pierrot since they animated Gai vs Madara. They could've done so much better on that fight (better animation, padded filler in the fight) but they failed. U_U
