Depends on what you mean by "family drama" are we talking Minato, Kushina, and Naruto, or the Uzumaki clan.

If it's the clan then it's easy:

They're clan was wiped out by the ninja world. Revenge is a powerful motivator. Just ask Sauske and the Uchiha.

If it is Naruto's immediate family, then no drama there as they were all loving and noble of sorts which, agreed, would ruin Naruto's character.
