Lets take a look at how the gang aged between part 2 and Gaiden:

Keep in mind that all three of these characters were in their mid to late 20's in part 2 and Gaiden is no more than 10-12 years later. Does Gaiden Iruka really look to be in his late 30's? Heck no, he looks mid 50's at best.

Now lets look at 3 older characters:

Hiruzen

This is during the Kyuubi attack, so its part one minus 16 years. He was about 68 in part 1, meaning he's about 52 here.

Clearly he looks either younger or equal in age to Epilogue Iruka, who is about 15 years younger. Tell me with a straight face this makes sense.

Jiraiya

he is the same age as Hiruzen during the Kyuubi attack, yet looks much younger than him.

Tsunade

Leaving the best for last, clearly I'm not going to talk about Oro. Tsunade being the same age as Jiraiya should look to be aged the same yes? Kishi says no.

This is how her skin looks without her seal active..... and she's the same age as Jiraiya.

There is no consistency going on here at all. Every character under 30 seems to have aged 30 years between the span of part 2 and Gaiden. Everyone 50+ before Gaiden look to have aged much slower when compared to them. Tsunade breaks this trend, looking decades older than Jiraiya who is her same age. Its downright odd on Kishi's part, you'd think he'd keep it more in line.

Not everyone ages well, it's more realistic. And I may discredit kishi for a lot but his art skill is top notch.

Plus if you add a headband iruka would look only slightly older.

Well, Whem it comes to Yamato I think people forget that he was used for who knows how long in the entire war arc, you don't know if he was traumatized, couldn't sleep after the war or whatever. No matter how crappy the war was, it was still a war and shit like that happens to soldiers. Like someone said above more realistic.

Tsunade looks way older cuz she's always utilising her chakra to make her look young, which may take a toll on her natural skin and ageing. (I couldn't think of anything else)

Do you know why Tsunade looks so old?
I do not, is there a legit reason?

Not everyone ages the same.
For example Hirohiko Araki is 55 years old and he still looks in his early 30's

Did it ever cross your mind that everyone ages differently? Whether it be due to stress, diet, exercise, genes, etc.
Of course not.
This is not a logical reason as this is a manga and not real life. For Kishi to show any level of consistency, all his characters should age at the same rate. You would never think twice about it if they all aged the same, but they way he aged some more than others only proves he's absent minded on the matter. It proves he either doesn't think about it or forgot how he aged characters prior.

Again, this isn't real life. How can two characters look decades apart yet be the same age? How can two characters look the same age but be 15+ years apart? Please don't bother defending it with this reason.

LOL are you under the assumption that everyone looks the same way at as they age IRL?

Reality check, I know people in their 30 that look like they could be in their 50s and vice versa.

Lol, you solo'd yourself in the first sentence, you act like these aren't humans he's drawing. Most manga, actually all of art is inspired by real life. He didn't dream up the human anatomy one day. Come on man, smh.

That's probably because not everyone ages the same way. Some people getta hella wrinkly early, some don't get wrinkly till way later, etc. It's inconsistent with each other because everyone aging the same way would be unrealistic.
