From personal experience every damn person I talk to seems to know that the "Government is corrupt"
This includes people on the internet and in real life, All I hear is "The elite" "They" "Sheeple" "The masses" "Brainwash"

To me everyone acts like they know the truth. I think 1 out of 3 people would understand what you are talking about when you say "sheeple" or "The masses".

If this is the case then why is no one doing anything and why is it that things are only getting worse? I am not from America but in America, laws are being put in place that will hurt the civilians in the future, police brutality seems to be rising, more poison is being put in foods, more "vaccines" are effecting people's mental state(mental disability), suicide rate is increasing and every time i look at that fat Alex Jones we are one day away from the Armageddon.

If everyone knows what is going on why nothing being done?

My guess would be, nothing will be done until the internet is switched off from people's houses or they get a knock on their door and swat teams drag them out, to put it in simpler words, until people's entertainment is ruined and they are DIRECTLY hurt no one will care, as they will be dying slowly.

Your thoughts.

Perhaps the "sheeple" are those who think they are being independent by joining the 99%.

The question is very simple: "What do we do?"

The government is corrupt, sure. The problem is that it isn't "the elite" versus "the masses."

There are no unified masses. There are different groups and fields of thought on things. I just want the government to leave me the hell alone. I don't want them to try to 'protect' me by making everything illegal. I don't want them to 'assist' me by trying to keep my feelings from being hurt when I am out of work and keeping a close eye on what I'm spending for food. Personalities like mine need that kind of motivation from time to time to get their act in gear.

I don't want people claiming to own my house and forcing me to pay rent in the form of property tax so their kid can go learn how to **** a goat in school, or whatever diversity they happen to be celebrating that month. I don't want businesses to be regulated out of existence - I do not appreciate the insult to my intelligence that assumes I can't figure out when I'm doing something risky or getting the short end of a deal.

I don't believe there is inherent evil to wealth. I don't believe there is inherent evil to various medical advances and biotechnology to include genetically modified organisms.

Short of murder and fraud, people need to stop trying to prosecute each other back into the stone age.

But half of the agendas you cited are things I don't believe are even a problem. They are nothing more than hype for agendas for people to squabble over who gets to force the other to bow at their feet. One group wants to have control of what is going on on this side of the town. Another group wants control over what is going on over here. Yet another group insists a certain race needs to be able to live according to special rules crafted just for them.

The government is corrupt because the people we elect are wrapped up in these agendas and their own.

If everyone knows what is going on why nothing being done?

Because 'no one' really knows what is going on.

They tend to assume, somewhat arrogantly, that they are representative of the whole - that everyone thinks like them. They don't understand that the rest of society is even more fractured and divided than our political offices/houses.

When the dominoes do start to fall, as they soon will, it will simply be a killing field and only a few of us will actually understand how it came to happen.

The French Revolution took its society by surprise and by storm. After the government officials were executed, the economic elite were killed, then the business leaders, then the educators and the philosophers who led the revolution. Once people started killing under the assumption that they were all unified in who the bad guy was, they only knew how to kill once it became apparent that there were more people who thought somewhat like the bad guys later on.

My guess would be, nothing will be done until the internet is switched off from people's houses or they get a knock on their door and swat teams drag them out, to put it in simpler words, until people's entertainment is ruined and they are DIRECTLY hurt no one will care, as they will be dying slowly.

This simply portrays the failure I spoke of.

What put people on edge were events like Ferguson and Balt-no-more.

What had people flicking the safeties off of their rifles wasn't the fact that officers were standing outside, telling people to go home. It was the fact that the government was bowing down to the demands of people who were burning down the property of private citizens.

What was communicated in those scenes was clear. If a mob of black people shows up outside your house, it just became "space to destroy."

Oh, sure - you might be in the house and you might have kids, heirlooms, and things you have collected over the span of thirty years of adulthood - but you have to understand that these people are upset over how police allegedly treat them so differently.

That is where it is going to start. A community is going to stand their ground against one of these riots (which will become more frequent, a lot of money is backing these riots), and shots will be fired.

At that point, it will be an avalanche reaction across the country. Activist groups will jump to the defense of blacks and begin sabotaging infrastructure or participating in riots. The rest of us (including a fair number of blacks who don't appreciate having their shit blown up) will respond with force.

The military at that point will be in shambles and likely end up fragmenting along regional and ideological lines. Clear chains of command will not exist, and half wouldn't be recognized, anyway (the political promotions of officers, lately, has pretty much disenfranchised much of the enlisted combatant population).

This will eventually devolve into a war of succession for who will essentially host the authority to establish the nation anew. Since there will be little consensus as to who actually has such authority, the result will be war and attrition until territorial boundaries have been established and the nation divides into smaller nations or collections of states (depending upon which group controls those regions), or a literal discourse of genocide until virtually all resistance to one idea or another has been eliminated.

When a friend of mine visited the U.S. from abroad a while back, I fully intended to meet her at the airport with a survival pack filled with freeze dried food and the like. Thankfully, she wouldn't have needed it within the time frame she was staying.

I am very serious, though, when I say that the U.S. is in a sea of danger it can't even fathom.

Your thoughts.

Learn to shoot a firearm. There will be plenty of dead bodies to claim one off of soon enough.

I read it all, very detailed answer, I agree with most but some things I disagree with.

I absolutely agree with you on "I just want the government to leave me alone."I don't want their "help" I don't want anything from them. It annoys me how they dictate everything we do, apparently we are smart enough to "vote" for the correct people but not smart enough to make decisions for ourselves without the government breathing down on your neck.

Sadly in England we can't do jack shit. No guns,no pepper sprays or tazers.

The laws can disarm the average non violent civilians but can do nothing to stop thugs and robbers from carrying weapons. Here a lot of people seem to love to say we have one of the least gun related deaths... well no shit. How about you check the overall violence and murder. Higher then America's.
There is no way to defend myself other then fists if I get attacked. A woman got put in prision for using a key on an attempting rapist. She tried to justify her usage as she was going home and she already had it out, but it was dismissed.

There's a difference between corruptions and selfishness. To say the government is corrupted is a lie because it would have to be pure at some point which no goverment has ever been.

In the end the government officials are countrymen of the governed, they work for themselves and the people. Because without it's citizens there would be nothing to govern, and as proven people will revolt if they get out of control.

Nothing in this world is perfect, but for some reason everyone expects it. It's silly. There will always be stupid people in the government positions like police because there will always be stupid people born into this world.

As long as Mother and I can live our lives peacefully, I do not care to spend thinking that much about the government. I'm not into politics and things are fine where I am, so I cannot complain. Does the world still need fixing when it comes to the government? I suppose, but all I truly care is being with Mother. Is that selfish? Yes, but it is true. Mother is all I need. A simple life full of love is all I desire.

Well if you have nothing constructive to add or point out don't write anything at all. What you want wasn't the topic so I suggest "mother and I" leave this thread.

No need to be rude about it and yes, I gave an answer on regarding the topic. I did not spam or post a nonsense reply. My stance on the matter was no stance. That was all I had to say and you ignored how it answered your question. There are people like me who just do not care, who want little, quiet lives, and that may be why the government keeps on continuing without fail no matter what they do or do not do.

Next time, do not be rude, please. I do not appreciate it and neither does Mother. Enjoy your day.

Oi smartass listen here you, if you were half as smart as you think you are, you would be a genius.

The question was plain and simple in English - If everyone knows what's going on then why is nothing being done?

Now you saying you want to spend time with your mother or you don't care about the government does not answer the question, therfore it's irrelevant. I know you may be slightly stupid, but come on, do I have to break it down for you this much?

Well, we wouldn't be individuals if we agreed on absolutely everything.

I've been known to be wrong and to make mistakes. Plus, it is when we are proven wrong that we have the greatest opportunity to learn.

This is what has frequently been called the "Unconstrained View" of mankind.

The idea is that the governing bodies of society are a sort of 'philosopher king,' either as a single head of state or as a collective of individuals. The government is there to manage and direct people. Having people vote on it is more or less seen as a sort of 'proof of virtue.' If you get enough votes to seat the office, then you obviously had enough virtue to warrant the responsibility. The people appointed you as their guardian and facilitator.

I think many people don't quite appreciate just how different America's governing system is (or... was). On the surface, it appears very similar. Many other nations have Constitutions. Many other nations have a parliamentary legislative body that votes upon legislation that is to become law. Many other nations have a head executive authority with powers and authorities distinct from the parliament.

But the difference runs deeper than just the words on the page to how the very systems are expected to run. In the U.S., a legislator is more like a cog in a wheel. His or her function is supposed to be more mechanical and utilitarian - there to voice concerns he/she hears from the local population or the state government (depending upon congress or senate seat, respectively) and to then to be able to answer questions and provide information to the local people about what is being discussed at the national level.

His job is defined and limited by the Constitution. Any laws he makes are subject to a ruling by the Supreme Court. There is a very clear outline of what types of laws can be made (or... there used to be...) and provisions for other branches of the government to interrupt any breaches of those outlines.

This is an entirely different concept of government that is, in my experience, fairly unique in the world. I am, honestly, not aware of any nation that was built upon such a contract-oriented style of government that places the government as an institution that needed to be restrained from acting.

Sadly in England we can't do jack shit. No guns,no pepper sprays or tazers.

I'm working on some ideas. In a world where the military forces of the globe spend ten times as much time training people on how not to get killed while shopping for souvenirs as they do training people how to kill their opponents - it really is just a matter of motivation for us creative types.

The laws can disarm the average non violent civilians but can do nothing to stop thugs and robbers from carrying weapons. Here a lot of people seem to love to say we have one of the least gun related deaths... well no shit. How about you check the overall violence and murder. Higher then America's.

Ultimately, the one weapon that can never be taken away is yourself.

I highly recommend the martial arts, as well. I took martial arts as a kid, and while I was never a very competitive soul in it (why would I punch people I think of as my friends?), it gave me some basics that have followed with me in life. The stances that were ingrained into me early on in martial arts are the same stances for just about any weapon. From various sword and spear stances to shooting stances - they all follow from very similar roots.

I never realized just how critical the basic forward strike was... and how many people simply don't understand how to deliver it.

The difference between how I see most people throw a punch and a properly thrown punch is night and day. Even a person of modest strength can crack or break ribs with a properly delivered forward strike/punch. If you don't 'conduct' the energy through your body properly and put it into the strike, it's just weak and ineffective.

I was taught a form of American Bushido as a child, and then I did some training with the Marines in their form of martial arts. Using limbs to apply leverage and to snap joints, less risky uses of the forearms for strikes (rather than throwing your wrist out there, you strike near the elbow). The Marines have a bit more aggressiveness built into their training - of course, you also don't want to teach a bunch of six year old kids about take-downs with the express purpose of bringing an end to the opponent's life as expediently as possible before another one shows up.

I'm not sure what the various European nations have in terms of regulations on martial arts - but I also highly recommend that, as well.

Obviously, most civilian martial arts training programs are going to be built around the idea of self defense within a society constrained by law. They are designed to teach you how to put distance between you and an attacker and to reach a point of safety.

Keep in mind that if you are training with the purpose of being prepared for a situation where there is no law available and the only way to be safe is to take down the opponent with every intention of ending their life... that you're going to have to be ready to inject that aggression into yourself when the time comes.

Rely upon the predator instinct that is bred into us all (the reason the world is so dangerous right now is that many of the sheep have forgotten that they are more than capable of being hungry wolves, and thus have no experience dealing with those instincts). Holds and throws ('joint manipulation') are exceptionally powerful. Bend things, break what you can when you see the opening. Hell - if you have to, bite and rip out chunks. You're at the bleeding edge of over ten million years of your family's history. Your ancestors were hunting the super predators of the planet into extinction.

Huh... there was an AMV that came to mind from -years- ago (2005) set to scenes from the End of Evangelion with Asuka as the theme and Meaning of Life (Disturbed) as the track. Can't find it, now. It properly expressed my sentiments.

This one also comes fairly close:

"End of hope
end of love
end of time
the rest is silence!"

Honestly, this song is such a suspiciously perfect match to the Evangelion series that it's suspicious....

That AMV actually extends -way- back to around the same time period but someone else has since re-uploaded it. People just don't make AMVs like they used to.

Of course everyone likes to believe that they are correct and they know what's going on, so they are special and not just sheep...A neo-nazi likes to believe that Hitler was a good guy and history on him was altered by the winners. A conspiracy theorist likes to believe that the 'government' is behind everything. It's like a modern paranoia. People feel the need to blame problems on an outside entity. "Anyone but me is at fault"- mentality. Sometimes this public enemy was the jews, or the communists, or whatever minority, or people with different views. Now western people live such a comfortable life in the so called welfare state that if something doesn't work out for them, they start blaming the state. Their comfort and happiness doesn't depend on themselves anymore but the state. 'Why don't I get more child support?' 'Why don't they raise the minimum wage?' 'Why don't they create new jobs?'

I can mostly talk about my country. I don't know how things are in the UK or the USA. But yeah, things are overregulated. That's what hapens when you give 2/3 of the parliament seats to a party in a country where 2/3 is enough to change even the constitution whenever they want- and they end up amending it every month. Then you blame stupid politicians for abusing their power. You put people in power- then you become afraid of that power you gave them. I think that's one of the main reasons why people don't do anything about it. They're afraid to lose the conformity they still have. They grumble a bit when some of their privileges are cut, but they patiently wait 4 yrs till the next elections. Then some of them don't even go to vote anymore as they lost trust and interest in politics. And I guess that's exactly what parties want. If most people become apathetic and only the loyal voters or hired voters vote: of course not the best party will win...Anyway I think that voting system based on parties is not good in the first place. These parties tend to become oligarchic. I don't know though how exactly should it be fixed, and well, maybe that's also why noone does anything. It's easy to criticize but everyone has their own ideas on how the system should be run and they either end up fighting each other on how to change the system- and nothing will be done coz they wasted themselves fighting each other-, or people will just shrug and keep trying to live their life as freely as possible.

Anyway I don't think it's that bad altogether. It was not better in the past either.

The 'government' or the 'mass' are not some abstract entities though. They concist of people. WE are all part of the the mass. It's just if the people can't agree on anything, the mass will become a mess. And a people that doesn't join forces and works together, is easier to be controlled. It'd help a lot imo if people helped each other out more often, if the citizens themselves would organize services on a local level, and people would be more self-reliant. Yeah it might mean giving up on getting child support from the state, but oh well. People back then raised much more children without state support, than people today. (Anyway I'm also not saying that state supports are altogehter bad, it's just an example that people rely too much on the state. And if you rely on something, and become dependant, of course you won't step up against it. You don't want to cut off the arm that feeds you- but people should realize that it's them feeding the politicians, not the other way round. We vote people in power to take care of certain things we don't have time to. Not because we want them to feed us. And yeah, many people see this, but they are afraid or just too comfortable. It kind of goes for me too...I'd rather not want to get involved in politics. But you see, some greek philosophers back then wrote that for a virtous man it's an obligation to be leaders. If they won't, then the mobs will rule.)

Let me finish with a quote from St. Augustinus:

"Justice being taken away, then, what are kingdoms but great robberies? For what are robberies themselves, but little kingdoms? The band itself is made up of men; it is ruled by the authority of a prince, it is knit together by the pact of the confederacy; the booty is divided by the law agreed on. If, by the admittance of abandoned men, this evil increases to such a degree that it holds places, fixes abodes, takes possession of cities, and subdues peoples, it assumes the more plainly the name of a kingdom, because the reality is now manifestly conferred on it, not by the removal of covetousness, but by the addition of impunity. Indeed, that was an apt and true reply which was given to Alexander the Great by a pirate who had been seized. For when that king had asked the man what he meant by keeping hostile possession of the sea, he answered with bold pride, “What thou meanest by seizing the whole earth; but because I do it with a petty ship, I am called a robber, whilst thou who dost it with a great fleet art styled emperor.”

Because priorities, thing is 'gain' and 'lose' are rather relative things- if everyone is affected by govt. corruption and it doesn't affect my personal entertainment, comfort etc then I'm not losing anything compared to others, it's like if everyone in your class got a 'D' you wouldn't feel that bad- but if only you did you'd wanna work hard to get better grades. Same thing.
