I predict Gaiden will be WAY more that just a "mini series" Maybe a prequel to part 3 or even being part 3 itself. Orochimaru will be nonchalan for a long while, playing naive and all. But his true motives is still the same as always, he wants the body of a real Uchiha. Either Sasuke's or Sarada's. I'm guessing Sarada's. So she will be the prime target for part 3. And the main story will revolve around her.

A fake Uchiha will never be the same as a real one, that the whole point of Orochimaru's plot here. He has failed over and over again with his experiments. Now he want the real deal once and for all.

Nice. You are not really spot on though. Orochimaru is only "behind" this in the sense that he worked with Shin years ago. He is not the villain. Neither is he "the only truly immortal one in NV". And if Karin really is Sarada's mother is to be seen (knowing Kishi's writing, she probably isn't).
