I think that there are mistakes in his DB entry, IMHO.
Will have to ask the Wikia people if we’ll reject this info…lol~ But just posting it here for solidarity since I finished it anyway.
I feel like they made his anime filler into canon on accident.
His codename in the manga is Tenzou, but here it says “Kinoe”, which was from a filler episode. It implies that the Third Hokage gave him the name “Yamato”, but in the manga I’m pretty sure it’s given by Tsunade (and in the anime, given by Kakashi?).
In early childhood, he was abducted by Orochimaru, and transplanted with Hashirama’s cells; Yamato is the only successful case of a shinobi body with Mokuton (/wood release). Since boyhood, he was possessed darkness, and then entrusted to “Ne” (/Root). With “Kinoe” as a code-name, he engaged in missions. However, as he encountered Kakashi, incidentally as they crossed blades, and jointly struggled together everyday as the weeks elapsed, the darkness proceeded to be wiped away. Removed from “Ne”, from the Sandaime Hokage, he was then awarded with the name “Yamato”, in order to now protect the next era, as well as his comrades of Konoha. Mokuton Hijutsu (/ wood release secret jutsu) is unleashed…!
