Watch Hunter x Hunter 2011 episode 116. That episode basically showed Gon's true nature and how selfish he was for his own desires. Because of how much Gon has changed and the actions he committed that is when there was also a change in killua. Killua felt depressed. Like he was no longer needed by Gon, and ect..

Actually, you're right. I don't know why I said "a lot," the only things that remind me of DBZ are Meruem, Killua, and Gon's transformation. But I do know he copied Gotoh from Parasyte to make Youpi. They look wayyy too similar.

That's typical shonen, and like you said: it started off that way. After the first arc Hunter x Hunter really becomes something different from most shonen battle series story wise. And there aren't really power boosts due to anger, they are because of conditions people set for themselves.

You really need to read more and learn Togashi's source of inspirations that include horror movies and read more mangas in general. for example- The zodiac theme of the latest arc is done to death-In fact it reminded me of my first manga I ever had read- the Fruit Basket. So is Togashi stealing from Fruit Basket now?

Buu of Dragon Ball Z meets a blind kid who didn't know his appearance and wasn't frightened. Buu healed the boy's eyes. Afterwards the boy was very grateful, and still didn't find anything unusual about Buu's appearance because he had lived among anthromophic animals his entire life. So you get chimera ant king with blind girl. not to forget the chimera ant's design and the powers are similar to the Cell Saga in DBZ. Both could absorb powers and do including of their own men/creatures whatever you call them.

Not to say Togashi isn't original in his own way. The story he tells are his- but the kind of superficial similarities you take to claim theft would land him in soup too.

Same for OP- it's huge mix from so many places- for example the oher day when I was reading Ruroni Kenshin I couldn't avoid comparing the rescue of Megumi with rescue of Robin.


Basically a pointless thread based on a superficial similarity about a fact which is not confirmed yet....

WOW this was stated years ago and it is obvious in Naruto itself. Togashi is 100% original and everyone copies his works. Tite Kubo's Bleach ripped off Yu Yu Hakusho and was even rejected by Jump until Toriyama approved of it and convinced them to give him a chance. Naruto ripps of Hunter x Hunter and even Kishimoto stated he was heavily inspired by Hunter x Hunter. most manga copies this man even Toriko with the gourmet hunters..the list goe on

Edward lost his arm from the start of the series and lost his powers at the end? how was that similar to Gon? Gon lost his arm by accident and he was originally supposed to die until Killua and Alluka saved him. In the end Gon never got what he wanted..he wanted Kite to be healed and found out he was dead..he killed Pitou and was still so sad and empty..all he felt was nothingness. Edward was happy at the end of FMA.. nothing similar to Gon

Red eyed clan and revenge theme is what I call superficial similarity. It's not the first time red eyes are used in literature or in manga nor I care about it nor Naruto was the last one.

Phantom troupe's actual ambition or definite goals and direction are yet to be defined. It never went much beyond original fleshed out abilities of characters. Akatsuki was doing things with a purpose. So the similarity ends with both being organizations of morally questionable/evil people. Sasuke was not after whole akatsuki.

The most striking similarity is in general lay out of chunin exams. But by the ending both mangas go in different direction with that too and Naruto chunin exams was more exciting the way it ended than the hunter exam arc, in my view.

And funny that you failo to notice how much Togashi copied fom Cell saga of DBZ. Or How killua's sister turned out to be "togashi's version of wish fullfiling Drangon balls.

I like H x H but I am not blind to it's limitations unlike you. People who make claims like every trope, idea is 100 % original in Hunter x Hunter and was never used in a manga before lose the ground to call any post rubbish.

I did and that's why I know that your claim was exaggerated to the extent to give a false conclusion. Kishi called him sensei out of politeness( Japanese style) in the interview. Doesn't mean the was his student for real. They barely mentioned meeting twice previously and some professional chitchat. ^_^
