Is it really a myth that trimming your beard makes it grow back faster? Some people say it does while other say no, personally I feel like it's growing more and faster but the length of time in which it grows only get slightly shorter. Is it really a myth guys? I wish it is.

It's a myth - 100%.

When it grows back it will have a sharper cut, since you - well - cut it with a razer :) So it might feel a bit more rough. But it will grow back at the same speed, same thickness, and same density.

When I first shaved with a razor I found that it only starts growing a few strands back on the 3rd day and it takes 2-3 months to go back to the same way it started. However, it feels like it gets longer during that time.

It's definitely a myth. Obviously, the hair becomes sharper as you shave it more often, but the speed of growth does not change.

How about when you unintentionally trim your upper chin or neck which has nothing and then starts growing hair?

Since everyone is saying it's a myth I guess I should simply keep shaving like I have been.
However, it seems there is no point in being careful with how/when I shave anymore.

When you shave you cut the hair from it's base which is the tickest part so it may appear to be growing faster or give the the illustion that it's thicker but it's the same really

Well, you should be careful as you should not want to cut yourself. Mother felt like Dylan should have taught me how to shave. I used to cut myself quite a bit until then. It was a nice thing for him to do. Anyways, safety first, my friend.

Yeah, obviously I'm not trying to cut myself. Anyway I have a nice scruff with a goatee right now.

It's a myth, and it's not true.

However, there are plenty of things you can do to support hair growth. Drinking plenty of water and eating well are two of many.

I think it depends on the person. My hair naturally grows fast and I have a lot of it. So I got tired of shaving after high school and just started shaping my beard and goatee and trimming it every few days. I was shaving too much and it was annoying.

While my cousin barely grows any facial hair and doesn't have to shave often, we're both twenty two.

LOL, I only need to shave every 2-3 months. That's how slow my beard grows, I just hope it stays that way.

I've heard that abstinence makes your beard grow faster, but it might as well be a myth haha :p

Peanuts contain oils that are good for hairs :) so eat peanuts if you want healthy body-hairs.

Trimming does not make hair grow back faster or thicker. If you want to grow hair faster you need a proper diet: lots of protein, zinc, iron, and omega 3 fats. Don't damage your hair with styling tools. Don't use too many chemicals.

Trimming will not make grow faster, but thicker! The more you shave and thicker the hair strands will become. Heard this first from the Arabs...
