| A lot of people believe Orochimaru to be a Villian, and personally, I have to disagree. Sure we've always seen him in an antagonistic point of view, but if you truly think about what made Orochimaru this way, and why he does such with no qualms, or uncertainty you'd understand his true purpose.

The White Snake Orochimaru early in his life suffered one of the greatest traumas anyone could suffer; the loss of his parents. Not wanting anyone else to feel such sadness in their lives, Orochimaru dedicated his life, his sole purpose in his misunderstood life to learn every jutsu; To unlock the secret to Immortality. Of course learning such would take an eternity, which he knew all to well, with the understanding of the basic principles of life; You live, to die. Knowing this, Orochimaru had burdened himself to make one of two choices:
Orochimaru chose the latter. He believed going down the road less traveled, as dark as it may have been, would lead to the greatest discovery the world knew; The solvent to death. Orochimaru would sacrifice many lives, all for this purpose, his intentions that of a pure conscience.
