I have remained very quiet recently on the buzz regarding the way that we treat trans-gendered people both legally and in society. I have never had too much of an opinion. But i'd like to share my thoughts about how the laws and societal practices that accommodate trans-gendered persons can be a VERY slippery slope.

We live in an age where more and more people are coming out about being homosexual, bisexual, asexual (like my ex amiright UPTOP), and trans. Its not just that legislature allowing homosexual persons to wed is being written rapidly, but society is making changes necessary to allow people who have changed genders to be able to live normally.

I guess i'd call myself very liberal on most issues. I want more strict gun laws, equal pay for women, and national healthcare. However when it comes to issues that don't effect me, I honestly don't care much. I don't mind gay people getting married. Who cares right? And if someone wants to call themselves a different gender than they are, what business is it of mine?

But i feel like I do have some criticisms that i've held deep up until now. The media always has their hot button issues. Right now, thats gender equality. If you say anything bad about gay people, trans people, or antifeminist, you will be crucified by the press. Conversely, if you praise people like Caitlyn Jenner, you're a hero. Its the same song, different words. Back in the 60's, it was racial equality. Shows that had black leads were "inspiring" and people who had racist tendencies were chastised. So it makes sense I've held my tongue. But i'm ready to share my thoughts.

Let me preface this first. I don't have ANY grievances against gay people, trans people, or any of those things. Many of my friends fit those roles. I want to say though, that i understand the criticism. I UNDERSTAND the republicans on fox news. Not that i agree with their reasonings, but there is a very good view point that needs addressed.

Where does it end? They gay marriage one isn't that bad. "where does marriage lenience end? marrying objects or animals?" No, that ends right at humans who are of legal age and unrelated marrying each other. But its much more grey with trans-gendered people. A gay or bi man is gay or bi. That simple. But what does a person have to be to become trans? It use to be "they get a *** change operation". Yeah? but some people identify as another gender.

Can someone who's a girl, who acts much like a girl, dresses like a girl, and is attracted to men like a girl, declare herself a boy? I mean if she wants to feel like a boy, sure, but does that mean she can use a mens restroom just because she decides she's a boy? Or once she gets her body changed, or even just DRESSES manlike, does she get that right?

People get mad at the term "biological gender" by saying "who cares about biology, i'm a dude, i feel like a dude". Well... its not always that simple.

Heres a great example of "where does it end". Why does it have to be just gender? Why can't I declare a different race? I mean thats a fair comparison. You are a man who feels like a woman, so what if you're caucasian but you feel like you're black inside. you like black people things, you think as a black man. Can you identify as black? "well trans people can get surgery" well you can change your race too.

I know its not perfect but see where i'm going?

I WOULD say "let people in society identify how they want, but we should make them still bound by laws according to their biological gender" but that has issues too

What if you have been trans for years and years and years. You took hormones so long that you have a vagina, you have nice breasts, you have long hair and a beautiful face. You have a husband. you ARE a woman through and through. But then you get arrested. We can't put that "woman" with men in jail.

Its so difficult. Its so exploitable. Southpark made an episode that showcases this really well when cartman wanted to use the womans bathroom so he just called himself a girl.

Its very VERY hard to keep things straight.

perhaps an arbitrary "you can legally become another gender if you get surgery and are treated with hormones" but that leave out people unable to do so. what about "you can legally declare yourself to be a gender, and then you can be that gender after x years.

You see what i mean? I have no problem with people changing sexes. I understand the psychological phenomenon where people feel like their a different gender than they are. But what else can we "identify with"

"sir you're too old to march drum core" "its ok, i have that condition where my mental state doesn't age past 10 years old, i identify as a child" "oh well then go ahead". Or "oh my god, are you treating that man like a dog?" "its ok, he identifies as an animal" "woof".

Ok that last one was a stretch but i'm just trying to say that its really really hard to control how we as a society move forward in this world where being trans is a thing now.

Its just really confusing.

Share your thoughts. I may sound insensitive, but trust me, i have 3 trans friends who agree with me about this. Its difficult. I am a bureaucracy. I categorize for a living. Its hard for me when theres something almost impossible to quantify.

I couldn't imagine parting with my penis.

It's been with me through thick and thin.

Edit:
I'm fine with trans people, it's not like they're hurting me.

The way I see it, the only way to live happily anymore is to not worry about every strangers issues. Just be yourself and believe and do what you think is best. Not everyone is going to agree with what you think. That is human behavior.

What I I think about trans? if you are born a boy, you are a boy until you die. Even with surgery, you will never be a full woman. Same if it's vice versa. You say Bruce Jenner, guy is milking the hell out of this, what about the other unknown trans out there. I personally don't think it's right this whole "I'm a boy trapped in a girls body" or vise versa, but at the same time won't speak against it because at the end of the day like you said I honestly don't care much

I think the problem with society is that the majority tries to tell others how to live. We only live once (depending on your religious beliefs) no one should be telling another human being how to live their life. Its a shame "freedom of orientation" should've been added to the Bill.

Basically my opinion on this situation. If a transgender chick who is now a dude walked into a mens restroom I wouldn't think anything of it because I wouldn't know they were transgender in the first place. Even if I did know it wouldn't matter to me like Nips said "...it's not like they're hurting me."

Someone's orientation in no way bothers me, but with forming a romantic relationship it should be required that they disclose that information.

Does this have anything to do with you? Why do you even care if a female feels like she's a man or a male feels like he's a female?
If a person feels better by simply identifying with the opposite *** they are then they should do it.
No one cares if you're confused. Gee.

The thing is.....its the right thing to do....yes strict standards must be set because some trans people will want to push the rules like all types of people whether they are white black gay or straight. But they may choose to live their lives as they see fit. They are going through a great deal of scrutiny and change to be how they feel they should be. I salute these people and will fight for their rights.

Also, the Bruce Jenner thing? Assuming that is what this is about is absolutely a cry for attention and help. The woman has been through a lot and feels she needs to spearhead the trans campaign. She is the WORST person to spearhead this campaign bar none.

If someone wants to be a trans, or gay, than fine they can be, but i still dont agree with it, and i think thats the line, people want others to accept them, but sometimes they start trying to get others to aagree with them as well. and on the other side of it, people feel like there being pushed to agree with it, when all they want is you to accept it. and then someone gets offended due to miscommunication, than again that may not always be the case, just my opinion.
