I thought I'd talk about what I think is happening since no one else is from what I've seen.

I'm positive that the son Shin is actually the father Shin's clone. There are several reasons for thinking so:

A. It looks like there are several "Shins"

We never got a clear look, but this is probably foreshadowing.

B. All his eyes on his body are the same mangekyos.

Even relatives don't have the same MS. Each one is unique, so this is direct confirmation that he either cloning his MS to spam it over and over, or is modifying eyes. These eyes are most likely harvested from his "sons."

C. He shares the same name as his son. This isn't uncommon, but given the rest of the evidence, this is another strong indicator of cloning.

D. He treats his "son" as nothing more than an object. This could be being cold-hearted, but it would make sense for him to have this attitude with someone that is nothing more than a replication of his own flesh.

All of these combined acts as a strong case for Shin to be cloning himself.

Theoretical backstory:

He's most likely was young during the time of the Uchiha massacre, and came across Itachi, only to be actively rescued. Itachi probably took pity on the young Shin, probably reminding him of Sasuke, or he felt guilty over something (like maybe killing his parents in front of him, activating MS). Itachi probably had an active role in hiding him from the leaf. Shin, conflicted over rage over his parents and his admiration and gratitude to Itachi, he ultimately categorizes the events as "survival of the fittest" Apocalpse and Esedeath style. This would fit perfectly for his talk about evolution.

What this has to do with the plot:

Remember what was said about Kaguya's army?

Remember, the army was a bunch of white Zetsus. Remember what they do? They replicate the appearance and chakra of their targets. It's quite possible that their original purpose was to imitate Kaguya to gain power as her legion. Shin most likely perfect or learned this technique, and had white Zetsu's perfectly imitate him completely down to his mind and abilities. As a result, there's actually an army of Shin's awaiting to be unleashed on the world.

This is how he'll be a threat in the Boruto movie while Boruto and Sarada will be able to defeat him whereas Naruto and Sasuke will not. Naruto and Sasuke will be fighting the armies, being occupied by their insane numbers, while Bolt and Sarada fight the real one for the final battle, who is completely inferior to Naruto and Sasuke, making the plot semi-believable. The final battle will probably be all or nothing with regards to Shin trying to access "something scarier than Kaguya."

Interesting. That's a good thought.

Not a bad theory. I could see them being Zetsu 2.0. How exactly do you clone Sharingan powers though?

Well, when it's all said and done, the same eye is the same eye. It's probably genetic in nature, which would explain why 2 brothers share a power(amaterasu). Perhaps the cloning that replicates his mindset, also replicating the mental state that triggers MS. If you're referring to the other option, being a modification without cloning, I wouldn't know. I find it unlikely, but the series takes twists and turns, so I'm making the concession anyway.

I don't agree but good theory.

That's fine. I'd be very surprised if everything I said will happen, but we'll find out which one it is when the series is over.

Well this is my final post so replying to me wont get anywhere.

Well lets start with the basics. Sharingan is simply special uchiha brain chakra affecting the optic nerves.

Thus anyone with that special chakra should be able to manifest sharingan.

It is also why a non uchiha using a sharingan is so much more taxing. Because it takes say 5 kakashi rasengan balls of chakra to become as powerful as 1 uchiha rasengan ball of chakra.(rasengan is just used as it is a consistant sphere of pure chakra)

The special uchiha brain chakra is also possibly how madara was able to use eyeless susanoo, assuming it was not a careless mistake or plothole made by kishi.

This is further cemented and proven by how when obito juiced up kakashi with his special uchiha brain chakra from the dead, kakashi manifested the MS and was able to use all of the MS abilities of obito.

Now to get in the meat of my post.

Now we have already seen at least with kage bushin and wood clones, that all the powers of the original are accesible by the clone.

We have seen BM clones of naruto manifesting the same parts of kurama, naruto clones using all sorts of the same techniques.

Now we have also seen Madara use wood clones to manifest susanoo as well.

So if just chakra clones are capable of using the same powers, surely actual clones consisting of the same body, should be capable of producing the same chakra and the same powers.

The reason sasuke and itachi, and madara and izuna have different ms patterns and different and similar powers , is because they all have unique chakra. However as they are closely related, their chakra patterns are very similar.

It is because of that slight difference that makes them manifest different natural MS powers.

If their chakra signatures were the same then they should manifest the same powers.

Thus as shin cloned himself(essentially no different from what we have seen from kage bushin, and wood clones, only instead of a physical body like those clones grant, it is a actual real replica) his clones should have the same natural powers as shin himself.

I think it is now fairly obvious all the shins are clones of the original(father) shin. And that over the years father shin has taken sharingan from his clones and implanting them in his body. This is further more obvious as he is about to do a transplant from his wounded clone shin to heal his(father shin) wounded body.

A good example of what father shin is doing, can be found in a book called "The house of scorpions."

Essentially there is a elderly person(150 year old) called "El patron" who keeps having clones made in order to replace his body parts as they fail. He usually when able, grows them to maturity before a transplant, however when he is in dire condition he does it anyways.

I hope that explains things.
