Wrong Itachi let him self die. I dont know how he died though, he seal Orochimaru inside of his Susanoo, Susanoo is an extension of a Uchiha's chakra and cells. SO he should have Orochimaru's life force inside of him, and should have survived using body replacement.

Madara, Fugaku, the rest of the Uchiha clan. The only good Uchiha is Kagami. Itachi dirtied his blade and his spirit with the blood of his own clanmates and parents. Making him essentially no different from say Kisame or Hidan. Both whom turned on their own clans/allies.
