Theory: 2nd Mizukage Made the 7 Swords

Look, the Hozuki clearly have a connection to the swords. The 2nd Mizukage had lighting release, Earth release and explosion techniques. He predates any known member of the 7 swordsmen and it would make sense, because his naturs corresponds with the abilities of many of the swords. It would also explain why Suigetsu's older brother was allowed to use all of the swords and why he was trusted with the scroll.

Ok, maybe it wasn't the second Mizukage, but it seems likely they were made by the Hozuki clan members at some point.

It's out there but I like the sound of it. He IS a Hozuki after all.

Either way i'll just assume having Hozuki blood in the Mist is like being a Uchiha in the Leaf. Hence the natural skill and trust in the scroll.
