Ey, I appreciate the fact that there's another sword enthusiast around. But a straight edge tool is still capable as cutting, it's cutting potential is just less then a curved blade.

OT: Gai should probably win. His nun-chuck skills are some next level shit, I wouldn't be surprised if he disarmed and took Hidan's Scythe to use as his own, in the worst case scenario.

By an explosion....which breaks metal easier than brute force :lol regardless of how small it is.

He can pull on it, but Hidan can then swing it in a way that lessens his fall and the chain would still be his. Also if he tries to grab it hidan can easily take advantage of that.

Who knows some blood might get on the chain if he grips it too hard.

Since when was Base Gai slower than Early Part 2 Kakashi? Not to mention slower when it comes to movement speed means just about jack when Base Gai's reflexes and CQC ability>Kakashi's reflexes given his performance against Obito, given his DB hype. Then there's the fact that he's been stated to be a master of a wide variety of weapons, including bladed ones.

Kakashi having a better Shunshin than Base Gai=/=Kakashi being able to do better in CQC than Base Gai. Hidan gets punked in that area, the only issue is actually putting him down for good. Hidan isn't going to defeat Gai by taking an active role, that's for sure.

Pretty sure it's been blocked don't blame Kishi for the scythe blame him for Hidan lack of good feats.

Base Gai should be faster than Kakashi during that arc but that's irrelevant when Gai kept up with Rinnengan Obito in CQC while watching out for his kamui. Considering Obito is much better at CQC this makes you Kakashi point moot, Gai had kept up with a superior combatant in CQC.
