So what path or ability is blind/rinnegan Madara is using here on these two hokages:

After reading a few threads, I'm almost certain that they're different.

It's not outer path because outer path means Gedo no Justu which is this:

One would speculate Preta Path, but Madara absorbed his chakra through ninjutsu-based technique. And those black rods are capable of remotely controlling the Six Paths of Pain and summoning, and disrupting chakra by injecting their chakra.

Madara's body is like Zetsu/Hashirama body. Zetsu was able to absorb chakra at Kage summit, I think it is that kind of ability. Even in Part 1 at Chunin Exam arc Sasuke's opponent was able to absorb chakra upon physical contact.

I didn't think chakra disrupters physically move your body, I figured that it would just disrupt/stop chakra flow.

The black rods have always been an outer path ability, It is the seventh pein, the outer path that controls the other peins through the use of the chakra black rods.

Each pein utilized the rods through the outer path I.E. Nagato. The rods are outer path basically. This is the concise version.

That was Preta Path, and his ability to make chakra rods is the same as Nagato. He's the original wielder so his Outer Path jutsu is beyond Nagato's level. He used the Gedo to absorb the bijuus directly unlike Nagato who used it to extract chakra from the jinchuuriki

Madara was able to use a variation of this technique in the form of black rods. He was not only able to remotely manipulate the actions of those embedded with the rods, but also manipulate the rods imbued with his will telekinetically.[1]

Will in the form of black rods also serves as chakra conductors and can be used with Six Paths Technique through Outer Path.

Yeah, it's also cause he's the original wielder so he doesn't need to do everything manually. Chakra rods are made of chakra so he most likely transferred some into Tobirama and Hashi when he countered them with taijutsu.

He did a similar thing to Obito before the Rinne Tensei jutsu, BZ is made of the same material
