.............and, he came to a halt. Standing on the grassy field was the man known as the Regent. Quite notoriously famous for his Genjutsu prowess, Ace called him, the non-Uchiha with the Sharingan. Pretty apt for him. This notorious man was none other than his mentor, one who passed him down the secrets of the shinobi. Starting as a regular child, Ace had become a dangerous pirate, the symbol of the legendary Whitebeard inscribed on his back. But, with his death, Ace abandoned the pirate life and chose to put his skill to better use, for a better cause. His mastery over the Fire element was nearly unparalled, as if he were born with it. But, shinobis were dangerous people, people who specialized in stealth. His pirate life made him a brash and reckless individual, who would be provoked easily, and his hot-headedness almost cost him his life once. He finally abandoned his impulsive behavior, and training with his mentor turned him into a calm and calculating individual. Now, he wanted to test his mettle in battle. Going toe to toe with his mentor himself wasn't surely an easy task. It was a test to test his abilities gathered in the recent years.
His shoes crushed the warm grass, and the sun shone with it's utmost intensity. He was shirtless as usual, and wore his trademark, skeptical expression on his face constantly; raising one eyebrow up, and a half smile planted on his face. He brushed his right foot in a circular arc, tightening his grip on the ground. His hands in the pockets, he glared at The Regent.
Let's begin then.
Taking out 3 shurikens out of his pocket, Ace held them with 3 of his fingers, each. Unbeknownst to The Regent, these shurikens were attached with a translucent string. He then threw the shurikens toward him in such a way that two of them diverged away from each other, and the third one headed straight towards his mentor. However, once the shurikens reached a certain distance, he fluidly controlled their trajectory with his fingertips, and made them converge onto his opponent. If successful, he would be trapped in his place by the shurikens, and then, Ace would hurl several explosive tags, in a diagonally upward arc, which would come down with great speed, and kill him if not countered in time.
(Sōshuriken no Jutsu) - Manipulated Shuriken Techique

"Let's see if I've actually taught you anything shall we?" The Regent's usual sarcastic tone reflected the critical nature he held towards his student, letting him know not to **** up. The Regent made sure to limit himself to the constraints of a general fight and thus, made sure the suppress the force that flowed through him.
After he spoke, Ace took out three shuriken attached with wires at the fingertips. Though the Regent didn't see anything he decided not to waste time with trying to avoid them, though made sure not to let Ace know that. The Regent sped forward while clapping his hands together in the snake hand seal.
"Who ever said hell was beneath us?"
Though as he spoke, the Regent's skin was turning black and hardening to the texture and durability of steel without hindering his actual physical movement. However, because of the Regent's appearance - completely concealed underneath his robes and light armor - none of this would even be seen by Ace. Quite the contrary, immediately after casting the hand seal to protect his body from the shuriken, the Regent injected his chakra within his student creating the complete sensory manipulated experience of a fireball forming and descending from the sky. This of course, would make much more sense to the Regent's previous statement as well as give an impression that the first hand seal was for the fire technique.

( Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka ) - Illusion Technique: Hell Fire
As the weapons would converge, the Regent would throw shuriken of his own but not to deflect them per say, but to give the further illusion of such. Even with the shuriken manipulation and the explosive tags thrown in the mix, the Regent's current state of armor would completely protect him. The most that would happen would be the shock of the minor explosion knocking him back, though not to the point of any conceivable damage or prevention of immediate rebound. What would be the course, if Ace sent naked shuriken (out of his control) toward the Regent, they would collide with his and fall to the ground, though if they were under his control, one would suspect him to use them to redirect them to the Regent. The descending fire technique would do much to distract and deceive his student due to the very real nature the illusion projected; the projected heat and pain he'd feel should the flames reach him would give the experience of a very real fire release technique.
The Regent continued forward, even if his cover is revealed to be protected with some sort of jutsu, the Regent wouldn't have anything to worry about besides minor explosions. If the Ace continues to throw the paperbombs, the explosions would cause him to temporarily slide back before proceeding. However, if he didn't the Regent would continue to close the gap into short-range (would be short-range by the beginning of my next post).

As the shurikens rushed forward, Ace watched the Regent stringing a handseal, while running forward. As the handseal was initiated, his attention turned to the sky. A giant fireball was descending toward him. Understanding the approaching danger, he left control over the strings controlling the shuriken, and instead stringed a handseal, exhaling forth a gigantic torrent of water diagonally downwards. The recoil force of the water instantly pushed him upwards at a 45 degree angle, as he stood atop the massive amount of water materialized. The fireball would simply hit the front portion of the water and disappear into a small cloud of steam by most.
(Suiton: Daibakufu no Jutsu) - Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique
The massive amount of water wasn't simply materialized for no reason. It was a setup for a technique to come. Once the fireball reached the water, he was surprised at the lack of 'impact' that would usually take place. He deduced that it was an illusion. A simple, but an effective one. Taking a single kunai, he stabbed his leg, and the pain broke him out of the illusion. Once this happened, he would manipulate the massive water formed, on which The Regent would also be standing, to materialize a massive tornado of water with a simple hand gesture. The water tornado would knock him unconscious, if not countered in time.

It will then shoot a gigantic torrent of water that extends water over a large scale, surges upon impact and rises up to several dozen meters high only to collapse down, forming massive waves all around as it does. The effect is such that as its collapsing it resembles a waterfall, hence the name of the technique. In doing so, it resembles a huge wave, with tremendous power that can hollow out the ground. What remains after that technique's utilization is reminiscent of no less than the aftermath of a natural disaster. This is a considerably advanced ninjutsu, and activating this technique requires a fair amount of chakra. The normal use of the technique requires a water source which is manipulated into the technique but some users have shown the ability to use the technique as a water stream exhaled from the mouth and forming more of a gigantic barrage/stream/wave of water rather than the more intricate and complex use of the main application of the technique.

The Regent tilted his head, "hm, predictable." He said as four large earthen pillars began to rise around Ace.
Just after the shinobi released a vortex of water, the Regent made four large pillars with two primary purposes. The first was to was to create a moderate barricade that would force the water back at his adversary while the second was to stop Ace's ascent backwards. The first three pillars formed in front of Naruto, curved inward at the center, to his right and left. They are not connected by with their general large size, a majority of the water would crash into them while a small amount would seep between the cracks. The last pillar would be created behind him in his line of backward travel. His travel back would lead him straight into the pillar.
(Doton: Kujo Joushou Iwa Chuuseki) - Earth Release: Destructive Rising Rock Pillars
The Regent followed by crafting four hand seals to create several large pillars surrounding both Ace and the previous earthen pillars on all sides. It effectively creates an oven that covers the front, back, sides and top. The ultimate goal would be to trap the Ace and prevent his escape even if he managed to get through the first set of pillars.
(Raiton: Jūrokuchū Shibari) – Lightning Release: Sixteen-Pillar Bind
the Regent then ends with two more seals designed to create a large pool of mud underneath the vicinity of the pillar oven to force it to begin to sink down into the ground. The pool would be several meters deep, enough to submerge the entirety of the oven and the confines within it as well, the pool would extend out in every direction until about five meters from the Regent in the event Ace broke out he'd still have the mud to deal with.
