Why does Shin think he has a chance against Sasuke?

During their encounter Sasuke wasn't even being serious he didn't even use his EMS/Sharinnegan or any other special jutsu. That was clearly a base mode Sasuke and Shin already said he's very strong. Fodder would have got Solo Glanced if Sasuke was serious. The only reason Shin could get a way is cuz Sasuke is shocked seeing a random person with Sharingan that's all.

Yeah, but don't forget Boruto is the new main character, so even if shin is a fodder, Kishi needs to make his father able to kick Sasuke or Naruto's ass to be sure they won't be in the way of Boruto saving everyone. And I'm just saying that sasuke wasn't base when he destroyed the meteor. Hell you can't even tell if that was chidori or a completely new technique which he came up with. Chidori never explodes unless it meets up with rasengan .
