Pre-Author note: The title above is simply clickbait. Before you choose to dislike my post/neg rep me simply because of my title, read the Post-Authors note.

The way I interpreted this chapter is that Shin believed he could fight on par with Naruto, but knew he stood no chance against Sasuke.

When Shin's ambush against Sasuke failed, he knew, at that point, he couldn't take Sasuke out. He decided to retreat, on his own free will, and go on to step B. However, against Naruto, Shin wholeheartedly believed he could take out the Hokage. The Murderous intent in his eyes where obvious

while against Sasuke he showed respect,
knowing at that point Sasuke was most definitely stronger than him.

Conclusions: Against Sasuke, Shin realized their was nothing he could do. After his failed ambush, he knew if he where to stay he would be kill. His decision on this case was that he would retreat - On his own free will. While against Naruto, Shin had all intent to fight. He honestly believed he could take out Naruto. Shin showed no respect for Naruto's power, but feared/respected Sasuke's, and only retreated because he was forced to by his master.

Post-Authors note: This is a response to these threads:

I will respect what they say, however I believe it is heavily flawed (fanboyism). In this thread I am not saying Shin > Naruto. Quite frankly I already know Naruto >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>x1000000 Shin. No question about it, Naruto and Sasuke are basically gods amongst men in NV at this point. I am bringing a new view to how people see the encounter between Shin and Sasuke, and Shin and Naruto. Both Naruto and Sasuke could probably no diff Shin in their sleep, but in the eyes of Shin, it seems he believes he can fight on par with Naruto, but not with Sasuke. What do you guys say?

I don't know why people always think one is stronger than the other. They are about equal

shin showed respect most likely due to sasuke being a Uchiha. He showed sarada respect by nicely asking her to come. Anyone who is a non uchiha seems to be useless to him.

Considering how mentally impaired that kid is, I don't think his judgement is really relevant.
But yeah, I agree, both Naruto and Sasuke are super OP and as for who would win, I could come up
with a million ways for either one to beat the other but Kishi would just make them tie again if he
ever showed them fighting.

He had to try against Naruto because Sarada was with him.

Objectives:

Against Sasuke: Test his power

Against Sarada: Capture her. Naruto forced him to retreat via kamui due to Naruto's ability to sense.

Well there are two options I think are likely.

Naruto, as Asura's known successor and inheritor of Hashirama's ideology is likely to of a clash against Shin who follows the Curse of Hatred, thus he's following a Madara-esque like stance of hating the anything Senju related.

OR... More likely...

Naruto just interfered with Shin's mission to capture Sarada, which pissed Shin off. I apologize for sounding brash, but I think you read into it a little too deeply. Putting "author's voices" in everything sort of takes away from the characters themselves since that makes them a bit more linear. What I mean by that is, every character is an "authors voice" but yet they all have their distinct personalities. Kishimoto is just brilliant enough to not make them sound as though they are coming from himself.

I knew someones gonna make a thread about this. Sasuke fans never change

I like how people always bash SB, when their are 2 expamples of the exact same thread (if not worse: Shin > Sasuke in their eyes) saying the same thing. Oh well.

I decided to read deeply when people where claiming "Shin > Sasuke," and they where getting legit support for it.

whats weird is, sasuke fought him in base while naruto fought him rsm.

base sasuke = shin was already thinking he had no chance

rsm naruto = shin believed he can kill him

base sasuke > rsm naruto?

Shin obviously doesn't know anything, otherwise he would never have had to test Sasuke's skill for his leader, nor fight a Hokage.

He is obviously being controlled.

Shin most likely respects the name of Uchiha. So once he got owned in an ambush clash he automatically knew he had no chance against him. This is of course Shin having the mindset of killing Sasuke because that is his one true goal and instead tries to capture his daughter.

For Naruto it's a bit different. Despite Naruto gloating RSM, Shin thought he stood a chance because he didn't have a full grasp of his powers. Luckily for him the mini juubi thing was there to tell him he would lose but naruto didn't give the impression Sasuke did that he would.

I disagree. Shin's situation against Sasuke was different than against Naruto.

Against Sasuke his objective was to observe and test his powers - - Nothing more. He achieved his objective. That why he didn't use his MS. He is following his leader's plan. I don't see Shin respecting Sasuke at all. He is mad at Sasuke for Itachi's death. There's even translation that has Shin stating he is going to kill Sasuke - So, based off that it can be determined that Shin believes he is stronger than Sasuke.

Against Naruto his objective was to capture Sarada and he even tried to kill Chocho - He failed to achieve his objective and failed to kill Chocho.

Understand, Shin doesn't have to defeat Naruto to capture Sarada. He just need to have the creature grab her and escape using their S/T Jutsu. Based off that it can be determined that he never believed he was stronger than Naruto. He used his MS to increase his chances of achieving his objective after Naruto pissed him off by telling him what was about to happen. His leader stop him before he was defeated and captured -

Wrong just wrong. Him wanting to kill Sasuke has nothing to do with him being weaker or stronger. :lmao:

No, but Shin stating Sasuke is strong and stating he is going to kill Sasuke can be interpret as Shin believing he is stronger. Most aren't going to say a certain person is strong and claim they will defeat them if they don't believe they are stronger.

No not at all. When Sasuke wanted to kill Itachi does that mean he was stronger. shin/hooded guy wants revenge. Sasuke strength is irrelevant in that equation.

Sasuke is not Shin. Sasuke always believe he was inferior to Itachi. Sasuke is a special case.
