[Discussion] Who is stronger Zeref or Acnologia?

Imo Acnologia is stronger, because Future Rouge said that he was the sole ruler of the world. That means that Zeref could hang with him in the end.

Zeref. Though, I would like to note, that Acnologia was strong enough to resist being killed by being in Zeref's vicinity. Though, Zeref probably did think he was capable of destroying both mankind and Acnologia by himself, and Zeref is very aware of his power.

but that was prob in the world where zeref didnt want to do anything, we cant tell whos stronger atm, itd be best to assume there equals , or considering immortality, just say zeref wins wheather hes stronger or not

I think Acnologia will be almost as strong as Zeref.

But honestly, I doubt Acnologia will be able to kill him.

Zeref seems pretty confidient about the fight, i think acnologia is just a dragon slayer like other DS but he is a little stronger than other DS...
So, zeref > acnologia

Not always. In many of his appearances, he has destroyed everything around him due to his inability to control his magic. In said appearances, this darkness has not always manifested, yet he still killed beings and things around him.

E.N.D. is capable of killing Zeref which indicates that it isn't impossible to kill Zeref. So Acnologia should be able to kill him but it depends on whether he's strong enough to kill him or not which I doubt he is. If Acnologia is stronger than Zeref then he'd have killed him ages ago which indicates Acnologia's inferiority towards Zeref. Though I think Acno will eventually surpass Zeref by gaining more power.

So in a way in order for him to control the darkness he has to hate life. Because if he chooses to love life then the darkness is emitted and he ends up destroying it anyways.

This is of course because of The curse of contradiction

Momento mori can probably kill Zeref, and that's the only thing shown, other than that, I don't think even a full powered dragon roar from acno can kill Zeref

This I always thought Zeref created Acnologia but since I started reading I noticed he didn't Acnologia recognize him as someone as an equal and the fact that he showed his human form too him. Acnologia is one of these characters which I HOPE wont have a background story he just is just PureEvil and wants destruction and to be the strongest. That's why he tried to Kill END Acnologia no doubt will become the strongest Character in Fairy Tail eventually he is setting Zeref up to be TNJ and Killed dying with a smile and having Acnolgia being the strongest the last hurdle for the DS

*Going back to the Tenrou Island, I believe Zeref appeared first before Acno came in. Did Acno intended to destroy both Zeref and Natsu that time (that is if Acno already know about the truth behind Natsu's identity back then)?

*If not, then was it just Zeref he "intended" to destroy? I think Grimoire Heart GM was using some kind of Zeref-related magic which Acno sensed if I got it correctly. If this is the case, then why did Acno not appeared on GMG considering that Acno appeared in Tartarus arc where there was lots of Zeref-related magic.

* What was Zeref thinking during that 7 years time frame during which Natsu, his brother, together with the rest were missing / dead? Did he actualy bother looking for them as well or was he aware Mavis helped them? Or did he sense that Natsu was alive? If Zeref, as mentioned in FT Zero taught Mavis Fairy Law, then I would assume its him who also taught Mavis the Fairy Glitter and Fairy Sphere.

going back to the thread's main issue, I would go for Zeref being the stronger one.
