Their help nerfed Madara. Gai can't counter TSB and was about to be killed by them in cannon if it weren't for Lee and Minato. Without there help Gai wouldn't have done nearly as much or even survived the first few exchanges

Again, that's because Gai wasn't using night moth. When gai used it, he even disorted the space. Using night moth, gai's speed is more than enough to dodge TSB and even pierce TSB shield.

@bold Sword of Nonuboku did **** all, Madara could ahve done the same thing with the barrier, if it would work on Madara they would've used it.

Also, Obito didn't use Kamui because he didn't want to, but he couldn't.
