Well that goes without saying in real life, but in luffy's case there's no such a thing as number 1 friend

Horseshit, you can have many multiple best friends. Most people don't consider one friend above the others, and simply hold their closest friends in equal regard. Best friends are your closest friends.

He holds all Strawhats as incredibly close nakama, and in that regard Zoro is hardly above anybody else. He trusts Zoro the most due to his strength, with Sanji second etc. BUT his best friend is between Chopper and Usopp as they're very similar and childish and goof around a lot more.

Although I think Sabo and Ace count as his closest friends.
