Madara is everything he is today because of his emotions...including: Izuna, inferiority to Hashirama, clan departure etc... So how is he an exception??
1-Madara's main dream wasn't to get revenge, neither did he lock his true emotions away like obito and sasuke who kept thinking about the past till it changed the way they thought about the future as well as the present.
2-Izuna had nothing to do with his ideology neither did the uchiha. It was something that he developed throughout the years, not "because you let rin die" or " Itachi died because of you"
3-The guy never changed his main mentality unlike all the uchiha so far, he stayed true to himself till the last minute. He basically stocked up to his ideals

I could write an eassy about how he was different but I'll just stop here since I'm going to bed now.

1. Wanted revenge on Hashirama
2. Madara even stated that he hated that he couldn't protect his brother because he was too weak.
3. He changed his mentality after wanting to establish a village with Hashirama, then changed it to continue fighting the senjus, then changed it to attack the village and kill Hashirama, then changed it to wanting a world of peace(Infinite Tsukuyomi) So yeah he did switch it up a bit.

In result it was all because of his emotions. Itachi was the only one who didn't let his emotions disrupt his goals.

Nah.

Unlike some people he knew that it wasn't hashirama's fault, he was mature enough to know that he had nothing to do with this.
2. Madara even stated that he hated that he couldn't protect his brother because he was too weak.
Again that had nothing to do with his ideology which was to obtain peace making his own world. It just means that he realized that he was weak enough to let his brother and thus too weak to rule the uchiha which is why he seeked his dream alone.

No. He knew hasirama's would't mentality wasn't accurate.

And no he didn't want hashirama dead for izuna or his emotions, he just wanted to fight him knowing that he's the only obstaclvto his dream

Emotions are the motivations of all dreams, now there's something called over emotional, madara wasn't the later. Tobiroma was the one that killed izuna yet madara never went after him, simply because, he knew it was the ninja world system's fault for having wars....he only fought hashirama to get fun plus to get rid of the last obstacle

PS: replying tomorrow
