Why don't Uchihas pass their eyes down generations?

Why don't Uchihas just pass their eyes down to their children after death? It'd be so much more advantageous than having to restart the entire process of leveling up your eyes.

That is definitely true, but Itachi did mention there were a lot more in the past while Izanami was created (or so the legend says). I would like to think a few from that era could have survived and would have had the opportunity to try this.

I'm not referencing that, but alas I forgot that MS is not needed for Izanagi or Izanami. It can be done with any sharingan.

I'm pretty sure filler is canon whether people like it or not, otherwise the term "filler" would be a misnomer. Besides even if those uchiha had MS they showed no particular special abilities or maybe they were not in range to use it.

Izanagi needs Senju/Hashirama chakra to work though. It's how Danzo, Obito and Madara were able to use the technique.

only a few could even awaken sharingan. and if you could awaken it, the max level was only known to be 3 tomoe. this was just the accepted last level of the sharingan. they never really made it known that there was MS. that was really forbidden knowledge.

I think you can do Izanagi without Senju DNA, its just that the DNA extends the time Izanagi can be cast for.

actually that's not true, because Madara literally just bit off that piece of flesh from Hashirama, that wasn't enough time for the DNA to actually affect him yet...

But say MS users pass down their eyes to someone . It would not matter if the person they passed on their eyes to does not have MS. The new user will still get blind.

An EMS user should always pass eyes. But there are only 2. Madara passed his eyes. Don't know what Sasuke would do.

In any case 3T and MS should be preserved, if not passed. They can be used by people for Izanagi.
