"Chidori" Ramblings

The chidori works just like the rasenshuriken, it's both shape and elemental manipulation, so I was wondering why can't it be done without seals? It's literally the exact same process except the shape manipulation is at a lower level. You expel chakra from your hand, just like with rasengan, then you add an element to that chakra (Lightning) just like with rasenshuriken. The reason it's not as powerful is because the "shape" of the chidori is inferior to the "shape" of the rasengan. As we all know rasengan is the highest level of shape manipulation.

In theory the "chidori" could be used with any element just like rasengan, hear me out, you should be able to expel chakra from your hand like kakashi and Sasuke do with chidori and instead of lightning add a different element instead, like earth for example, i'm guessing this would made a sharp earth spear on your hand.

But, I think lightning works best for the chidori "shape" (which is just chakra released from the hand,) becuse the lightning vibrates really fast and because of that it has high cutting power, the main drawback i see is that just releasing chakra and adding an element is pointless, say you have water affinity and you do this you'd just walk around with water on your hand it wouldn't actually do anything, or take fire you'd just have a fireball on your hand it's useless, this is why the rasengan "shape" is superior. And why Lightning element is best for chidori "shape"

Chidori at it's base is Raiton it isn't a sphere of chakra like rasengan is. Because of that, it requires seals to use lightning release.

Neither kakashi or sasuke need seals for chidori/raikiri.
Infact handseals themselves are only to assist the user in molding the chakra. After a certain lvl of chakra control it shouldn't be necessary, or at the very least reduced.
