Are the Espada just Tite Kubo's attempt to copy the Akatsuki and Homunculi?

I mean, both of the latter are memorable and charismatic villain groups made up of elites with dynamic personalities for its members, with long term goals, and an overriding theme. With the Akatsuki and Homunculi, one of the most fun things to do is watch how they interact with the heroes and each other. The Eapada, on the other hand, are all rather boring, not very notable, and don't have much impact on the story, and, like the Homunculi and Akatsuki have an overriding theme (death aspects). Am I right?

NO Kubo did not mean to copy them. A group of villains have always been a trait of many anime, manga and even comic books, tv shows and other forms of media(Phantom Troupe from Hunter X Hunter, Organization 13 from KH, etc.)
