I was reading manga when i saw this.

she used here ability on marines and without touching them

so here ability might be "awakend"

Doffy never turned anyone into strings so as far as affecting people goes, i dont think awakening does that. Maybe if the buildings aged... but she probably shot them with a beam or something that happened off panel. There was her interaction with akainu though which did seem odd.

I think that's probably just the basic ability of the DF. Long range =/= Awakened.

We weren't shown the fight between her and the marines just the aftermath. Hence, you can't deduce she didn't touch them and they were just magically changed.

Jeez, now that oda introduced this 'awakened' devil fruit thing everyone is going crazy just as much as those who end up giving every character they like "D". SMH!

I reckon her awakening will be altering the age of objects e.g. plants or weapons (making them fall apart?)

I believe different awakenings will have different characteristics, not just being able to enhance their reach...
