Aside from it being messed up, do you think it's worth getting married there?

Divorce laws lean towards the women.

I think marriage is pointless all together, just gives false validation that you'll have someone there for you not matter what. When really that's not the case at all. Financially it can be good if both have nothing or both have a lot.

I don't think you need the governments involvement to commit to someone or god's approval. Divorce proves this.

Well, it is really all dependant on ones mindset. If u think that if I get fed up with u then I can just leave then u probably shouldn't be in a committed relationship in the first place. Marriage is supposedly a life long vow. Where two make a vow that they belong to one another and will cherish one another. It's a commitment that should bring a sense of security where even if a couple has problems their reaction shouldn't be to find someone else, but how to make things work, ideally both putting their marriage above their own wants.

Marriage is commitment which I believe is very important in love, but in a world where commitment means crap marriage also loses its meaning

I understand what the idea of marriage is completely, but I disagree. You can commit to someone without legal documents.
