I believe there is too much emphasis on the Byakugan being the only genetic trait which allows a Hyuuga clan member to actually be a Hyuuga clan member. That is not really the case, it never was. If the Byakugan is one of two trademarks that links a Hyuuga to their clan itself, wouldn't anyone be considered a part of the Hyuuga clan if they had the Byakugan? Then wouldn't

be considered a Hyuuga, or "Half Hyuuga?" No, he wouldn't. That is almost like me comparing Kakashi to the Uchiha clan, or calling Kakashi an Uchiha at all. It should be obvious that the Hyuuga clan, and most clan(s) themselves are bound by blood. It is just a fact that all Hyuuga clan members are born with the Byakugan. In case with the Uchiha as they are a Dojutsu clan too, if an Uchiha never activates the Sharingan ... are they too considered non-Uchiha's? What else does the Uchiha clan have that makes them distinct, or an ability that is usually passed down through Uchiha-blood members?

Back onto the point between the Hyuuga clan and the newest offspring of Hyuuga and Uzumaki, is that the Byakugan is not the only thing that defines the Clan itself. It was noted during the Chunin Exams that

which mind you, don't need the Byakugan to activate, it only enhances their utilization of it.This is not really a thread to classify them as Hyuuga's, or to prove that Kishimoto would showcase the Hyuuga side in them. I don't even expect them to have the Byakugan. Many speculated that they would activate it because they are Hybrid, the first of their kind, or maybe just a mutation of the Dojutsu itself. Which I'm inclined to believe because Naruto is a Half-Uzumaki, but does that mean he was never born with Uzumaki traits/abilities? No, but again, this is not the thread to speculate for that nonsense. Kishimoto will do what he wants in the end.

Kishimoto depicted an early Boruto to have the Hyuuga clan symbol during the Last sketches, and Boruto's sketches that were released at Jump Festa (Or was the Exhibit?). Now it was confirmed during the Exhibit scans (a thread I made yesterday) that the flame is a part of the Hyuuga clan symbol:

So whether or not drawing Boruto with the flame is an indication for something in the future, it was a nice find anyway. A little sad that he does not wear it now, but Kishimoto seemed to have drew Boruto/Sarada as respected parallels to their fathers, carrying the Uzumaki/Uchiha insignia's instead.
I hope you enjoyed my thread ^-^
