I don't know if this is a plot hole or not, but isn't Sasuke supposed to be graduated before Naruto? I mean the latter failed like what 3 or 4 times? Though, was Sasuke held back because of lack of cooperation skills or did the trauma slowed him down a little? Or did he even loved going there?

Naruto started too early, he was an orphan so he wasn't able to get taken care of by family, the village just decided to make him go to shinobi school as soon as possible. I think Sasuke also started early like Itachi because of his talent but his trauma held him back.

They both started early and got held back for personal reasons imo

I'm guessing the latter. Having your family and entire clan massacred by your older brother then having him show it to you via Tsukuyomi can derail one's academic goals. But no Naruto attempted to get into the academy and failed 3 times. Sasuke became an acedemy student the same time Naruto finally got accepted.

Sasuke may not have had to try more than once, but Naruto applied 1st.

We don't know how many times the Academy graduation occurred a year...It could be held twice a year like chuunin exams.

We don't know if there was a requirement that only Naruto met...allowing him to take the test early--Like having a certain amount of chakra.

This is why i never considered Sasuke a genius and why Naruto should be way older than his classmates. And if you look at Sasuke's report card he was #1 in everything including "Team" so cooperation didn't hold him back.

But if Sasuke and Naruto aren't in the same grade the genius vs hardworker theme doesn't work that's the story reason why Sasuke was held back b/ckishi wanted to compare and contrast naruto and sasuke. But if Sasuke was a true genius he would of graduated wayyy before 12.
