In the databook they explain what version of naruto is in, in the movie last while introducing Haruma in the next page over.

Now, what kind of question is that?

I'm starting to think naruto was using RSM in the last. It's just that the movie was incredibly inaccurate at showing it. Naruto was flying which is a RSM trait. RSM was what allowed him to kick Madaras gudodama so he doesn't need bijuus chakra to use RSM. KCM only existed because he was unable to bring out kuramas full potiential. The movie is full of retcons.

RSM is actually nothing but his ability to have mastery over Senjutsu chakra that is unparralleled. He had universal understanding. However, he doesn't have the mode he used against Sasuke. But he still has "RSM", because its not something he can forget. He is the best Senjutsu user in Naruto-verse.
