I wish Byakugan didn't give the user disgusting veins around their eyes. Just imagine bolt with Byakugan.... disgusting. I wouldn't mind it just being like sharingan where it gets enabled and turns the users pupil white rather than it being white 24/7

I have heard multiple people make this error: You do know that last names don't affect a person's genetic traits right? It doesn't matter that his last name is Uzumaki. He is still a Hyuuga descendant as well as an Uzumaki descendant. Therefore Byakugan is still a genetic possibility for Boruto.
His last name is simply Uzumaki because kids usually get their father's last name. Even if Bolt was born with byakugan his last name would wtill be Uzumaki. The only reason Naruto got Kushina's name is because Hiruzen wanted to protect Naruto from Minato's enemies by making Naruto's relationship to Minato a secret.

Bolt or himawari does not have hyuga genetic when they had their whiskers on and without byakugan. These kids have naruto dominated genes.
If these kids are hyuga why have we not seen any panel with bolt sticking with his family tradition while being train under hiashi or other hyuga in order to become the next heir.
Face it, Bolt is not going to learn any hyuga moves when he's simply being train under sasuke. It's just kishi love to shit on the Hyuga as usual.

The byakugan is not the only thing that they could have inherited from their Hyuuga side. The ability to release chakara from the tenketsu is said to also be a hyuuga kekkei genkai. They could have that ability (which is something that you wouldn't just tell based on appearance alone). Besides, they are not completely Naruto dominated in terms of genetics. They both have that leaf shaped hair which is reminiscent of young Hinata's hair shape and Himawari even has Hinata's hair color. You must also consider the fact that we don't know some of the kids' personal preferences in things like food, potential mates, etc... Personality and tastes in various things are also influenced by genetics. The kids may have some personal tastes and personality aspects that resemble Hinata's. You can't assume based on appearance alone that someone's genetics are predominately those of one parent. Physical appearance is only a small portion of what your genes affect. Therefore it is wrong to say that they got nothing Hyuuga related just because they don't physically look like Hyuugas.
Edit: Also even if Bolt does have Hyuuga traits that does not mean that he has to stick to tradition and use gentle fist. Additionally, Bolt is not the heir to the clan. Hanabi is scheduled to be the leader so her first born child would be the heir (not Boruto).

No, every Hyuga are simpily born with the Byakugan, but the very fact that Kishi had forgotten to give them proves my point here, also excelling and release chakras from tenketsu are pointless if you are not pure blooded Hyuga and without the byakugan, Bolt had some hybrid form of Uzumaki & Hyuga but Naruto genetic completely overwhelmed Hinatas which render everything useless.
I think you're overthinking too much, Bolt hair, his face, his persona, etc is almost exaclty like Naruto likewise Himawari to Hinata simpily because Kishi loves to make everything redundant, repitition is Always Kishi speacility

You seem to be saying that if you look and act mostly like one parent then you completely lack the genetics of the other. That is your error. Genetics may influence personality, but personality does not affect your genetics.
In other words, it wouldn't matter if Boruto was indistinguishable in appearance from Naruto and went off shouting "I am going to be hokage and eat ramen and beat Sasuke-teme dattebayo". He'd still be part Hyuuga. He could get his first name legally changed to Naruto. He'd still be part Hyuuga! He could extract the bijuus, Hagoromo's, and Asura's chakaras out of Naruto and put them into himself. He'd still be part Hyuuga!!! He could renounce all connections and sever all bonds with Hinata and her side of the family. He'd still be part Hyuuga!
No matter how much like Naruto he is or how much like Naruto he ever becomes, at the end of the day he is still part Hyuuga period!!!! Your appearance and personality don't determine your genetics!! Not all of your genetic traits can be seen in your appearance or even your personality!
It could even be something as small as, Boruto's favorite foods are cinnamon rolls (which are one of Hinata's favorites). Either way he is both Hyuuga and Uzumaki!
P.S. I am not saying that this means that Boruto will awaken byakugan, but you and many other people are wrong to think that if you look and act mostly like one parent that your genes are completely the genes of that one! Humans reproduce sexually! Also, it was never stated that you needed to be pure blooded Hyuuga to release chakara from the tenketsu. You don't actually need the byakugan. The byakugan just lets you see the tenketsu. If you are smart or skilled enough to find and memorize their locations on your own through some other means, then you don't need the byakugan. Boruto was called a prodigy, so that may be feasible for him.

You are born with it. It's probably recessive or something when one of the progenitors does not belong to the Hyuga Clan. It would have been amazing to see it though.
