Murder can be judged good or bad based one's morale. Suppose that "someone" is bad. He has spilled a lot of innocent blood, even of your family and friends. From your point of view, this person is sick and deserves to be killed. If you kill him, it's a good deed from your point of view. But from that "someone's" family's point of view, you are just as bad. It's like every coin has 2 sides. I hope I was clear. -.-

In the most basic terms of nature, murder is not wrong. It is natural. Things die.

When you mix human emotion into that you get your sympathy, empathy, love, heartbreak, sadness. Not to mention most mainstream religions find taking a life unprovoked to be a 'sin' and worthy of eternal suffering.

I skin my cat for fun and hunt dogs outside. Naturally they are all inferior animals supposed to be exploited.

Murder is wrong through and through. In "nature" doesn't exist with humans. Dying eventually doesn't matter, we live in the here and now and everyone deserves a chance to be. I'll refer to Natural Law for those that need something more concrete.

I mean every living thing dies so killing them doesnt really make a difference or does?
You cut off the time nature had in mind for them to die so you're essentially playing god. The only ones that should kill are the ones who are prepared to be killed.

There are morals and traditional beliefs designed for the purpose of teaching people to live in the right way. That's where religion and social laws come from. Although there might be some human belief that we should be allowed to do what we want. If that were possible, there is no doubt that such a way of living would also bring in atrocious consequences thus detrimental to humanity along with the whole environment. This is why I believe, there is some truth that lies in religion and the only way to salvation is to seek for the truth in the form of a religious belief, as they are initially designed to teach people to be more civilized and to live as perfect human beings. :)

Depends on the situation. If someone killed someone else in self-defense, no. But if someone left the house and just shot someone for shits and giggles, that's bad. It's not black and white.

I can't even believe this is a debate. Of course we all die, but we don't have the right to choose who dies. So many murders are over trivial things done impulsively in the heat of the moment.

I find it to be kinda neutral?? For example if someone were to run up to an innocent 70 year old woman and murder her it would be considered bad. But if someone murdered Hitler or Stalin it would be considered good. Like sexuality or gender, it's neither good nor bad imo.

Depends on motive. Self-protection/survival, protection of others. If you'd do it for fun, it'd mean you lack empathy ..making you mentally ill.

Murder is by no means a good thing and even if we don't consider the moral aspects I wouldn't imagine an animal going around and killing just because he feels like it and the other creature is going to die. That's a terrifying logic and opinion you have there.. Even in situations of vengeance, no one has the right to take a person's life. That's why we have a justice system (in some countries that's debatable though) and that's why death penalty is still a very controversial issue only accepted in some states and some countries. However, you also have to differentiate between a planned murder and an unplanned one. In self-defense cases, the individual is not planning to murder someone but rather kills it as a result of its survival instincts so it's not like the person is killing just for the sake of it.

Morals are not universal. It would be ridiculous to expect everyone to think the same as you. Not everyone will care about the lives of others, nor should they. Our world is built upon animal killing animal to survive. Humans are no exception. I don't think it's strange to feel nothing when others die.
"Its only a tragedy if you think it is, and then its only a tragedy in your own mind. so you shouldn't expect others to think that way also." -A dude

It's bad, no matter the circumstances.

It's acceptable ? understandable ? necessary ? Well, now that depends on the circumstances.

It can't be more simpler than that.

Secular liberalism is dragging mankind into the dark hole that is moral relatively. The moment that stance is taken, no one can moral judgements regardless of circumstance. Men like hitler can no longer be deemed as being bad.

You either recognize moral objectivism, which necessitates a divine reality, or face the anarchic abyss that is moral relativism.
