I actually disagree.

Karin has proven to be able to determine:

Honesty and dishonesty.
Exact quantitative numbers.
Power Levels.
Emotions.
Village Affliction.
Perceive locations and movements with great detail.
Determine, lock then track someone based off other their specific/unique chakra signature.
Instantly determine if genjutsu is being used.

All without using chakra.

Naruto can sense negative emotions in KCM,while Karin is able to sense negative,and positive chakra. So Karin is above Naruto in that regard,but people maybe thinking about Naruto's sensory abilities in Sage Mode,and thinking that it's the same as when he's in KCM,and Bijuu Mode.

Naruto's only able to sense everyones chakra in SM,and BSM.

Karin can differentiate. She knew a dog was among the new Sasuke retrieval squad when they were looking for Kakashi. She knew which kage was danzo. She sensed Sasuke and Taka when she was locked up. And she knew Sasuke was injured in a battlefield full of thousands of shinobi.

The way Naruto's detection works is that he can detect actual intent or feelings around him. Kisame noted that even the most astute sensors can not make those distinction purely from emotions. This is opposed to Karin being able to sense a person's state through only chakra.

You would have a point if it took Naruto to activate KCM to perform the exact thing Karin. But that isn't the case.
