The Ootsutsuki did not land on the moon, Hagoromo and Hamura created it with Chibaku Tensei and then Hamura moved there to protect the Mazou, and also establish the Shinobi of the Moon.

And yes, i also believe thats there 3rd teammate and hopefully Sasuke is the one leading it.
