Do you think Bleach has become all about fan service in the war arc? I'm not just talking about the smut Kubo has added but the story in general, it feels like everything is geared towards something the fans want, almost like its fan fiction, especially the chapters over the last months.

It feels like Bleach was

A great manga, geared at keeping the fans happy but maintaining its story and action
Then, A kill fest with awful choices the fans hated
To - An almost fan fiction mismatch of events

It feels as though Kubo has no idea what he is doing anymore, everything feels random.

no you are one of the minority who think that way. Bleach is amazing and this last arc is the best so far. However, you know what's consistence? you're hate is lol.

btw gonna throw this here since both of you seem to share the same faith :)

The story of NaNaNa's life:

+introduced
+KO'd by Yamamoto
+KO'd by Byakuya
+KO'd by Auswahlen, while he already was KO'd on the ground
+finally started explaining his powers, several years after his introduction
+KO'd by Bazz-B immediately
+dead

what a great villain.

...OK. I don't really get this...but...

I'm not hating, I'm pointing out an observation and clearly, as Bleach's readers have plummeted, I'm not the only one finding fault. Just because a fan finds fault with something doesn't mean they are hating, sometimes it means they care. Bleach has degraded significantly in quality in recent years, now it feels that Kubo is trying to win back readers by playing to their every whim in a disjointed plot. In the last few months I don't know how many times "this technique" has been thrown in. Just because I don't go girly screaming at every stroke Kubo puts to paper doesn't mean I am hating on Bleach.

Fan service is good though. I personally enjoy the way it's going. There are a few things I'd obviously have changed, but for the most part this is my favorite arc.
Fan service isn't great for a story. As much as I love Grimmjow and am overjoyed he has returned, his return is very, very random, he should have been there ages ago for it to make sense. It feels like Kubo has made all these mistakes and is now panicking to make up for them and going in circles doing so

have you not noticed you black characters get treated in this manga?

almost all of them die in horrible and humiliating ways
and not to mention their characterizations
...I never noticed but yea, I guess you are right, it could be accidental though.
I will defend a tiny bit on physical characteristics though, most cartoons use stereotypes when designing characters of particular races for ease of recognition. White people are usually displayed in manga and anime as blonde, American and share similar, sometimes offensive characteristics.

I'm not saying its right but the Japanese are very Xenophobic. Foreigners and that includes other Asian races are usually viewed with a stereotype belief. I think with Kubo, it may be more of killing off characters that are not Japanese than killing off characters that are black.

But I could be wrong. Its not nice and its not right.

It's a disturbing thought to be honest, because Kubo is one of the only manga ka's that has black characters in his manga, so he either creates them because he isn't racist and kills them off as a coincidence or he is racist and creates them to kill them off, which is awful but then what about Ichibi?

I keep getting less and less fond of Kubo

Idk about the whole war arc, but the obvious fan service that made me angry was Byakuya miraculously surviving after like 3 chapters with panels of him literally bleeding out and dying, and his sword disintergrating, geez honestly Kubo should have just killed him off like he was going to but of course you have the people who are very clingy to manga characters who are afraid to see them die lol tf is with that p*ssy sh*t geez it's a manga let him kill people off like a war arc should end up as(Rant Over) him dying could have gave more development for Rukia and Renji, especially during the As Nodt part two fight and the 3 sternitters could have gotten more fight time. other then that I havn't noticed to much fan service well at least that I know of, Grimmjow's appearance was fan service but hey it is what it is.
