Haha i thought it was bad at first but then i looked at it and i think it looks good
People are used to see a badass look when a character powers up or something but here one piece is changing that.

No lie, when I saw Poundman I laughed and then read Doffy's lines and laughed more, then I saw Kong Gun and HOLY SHITTTTTTTTTT Oda did good representing this one, as expected.

To the people saying it looks dumb, maybe that's just a first impression? I thought it looked really stupid at first because he went super body builder mode and his waist got really buff and bulky instead of thin and lean. But then by page 10 after enough close ups it started growing on me.

G4 really, really reminds me of Super Saiyan 4... And that's a good thing, given that its my favorite form! The marking around his eyes and the way his hair flows up is badass. Whoever the guys were that predicted it would be the return of Nightmare Luffy, tips of the hard to ya.

So from what I can deduct, he has been training to use Geppo, and can now fly. Awesome. Then his striking speed increase 3-4 fold about, not only in his fist but his feet as well. Loved it. And I remember, ages ago making a thread on T-Bones square cutting technique and how Luffy should learn to utilize that technique! Maybe he wasn't the inspiration for that, but nevertheless I was hyped to see my vision actually happen in the manga! The attacks look much awesomer when they cut corners like that.

And lastly, the themes with Gears. G2 is obviously making a sniper out of his body, G3... I would assume is utilizing his body like a cannon, given that he has defined his G3 shapes a lot more since the skip, to where they look like huge orbs, or cannonballs. And now, it seem that he's combined the both of them so now he can fire a cannonball at the speed of a sniper shot!

Gear 4 is 10/10, love it

The body proportions are weird. Ruffys normal body + that design would have been better.

Im excited based off what we have seen thus far, and I know he still has so much more to display. I kinda feel bad for doffy at this point. His whole crew has been wiped out and now he is on his own fighting this Beast (luffy) that seem to be immune to his attacks.

I see something almost as epic as this, finishing (killing) Doflamingo:

I love the idea. It's an ode to Bellamy in a way

It's got a great drawback which is the fact he can't keep still, and this movement may be hard to control

Since he's much more muscular it's much harder to hurt him, the strange black markings on his eyes raise some questions, how do they come about? What do they mean? Or is it just a part of the ape motif?

Either way it's f*cking badass and it satisfies lots of people in the fact he kinda resembles nightmare Luffy
