Basically once you write any member's name some where in a thread with this symbol @, the said member will be notified just like how it goes in rep/quotes.

Example
@Skorm and then you'll simply get notified.

:sdo:

This ain't my idea, I got it from somewhere else.

I'm down too, but the only annoyance would be for people with name changes, or people with intricate usernames

For those people, you'd have to check their profile, but then you can pretty much just link them when you get on their profile

But for easier names, yeah, this would be cool

I actually like this system if it were not for the fact that you have to know the persons profile number or something before you mention him. Makes it very inconvenient that way.

Nah, you probably thinking about linking their profile page and simply changing the link name to whatever name you're using. I'm talking about simply just writing this:
@+the name of the person
@Anduril
and boom!you get notified.

Mods let's do democracy, 4 rightful NB members has approved this. I got the majority, now come at me.....:sdo:

A tagging system would be good, I think it won't happen because of the quoting thing already. Plus, there will undoubtedly be air-heads that would "abuse" the feature by spamming that.

I have seen this somewhere else, I loathed it. This only works when you have a small community where everyone knows everyone, not a large one where you have thousands of people where many of them of regularly change their names. Above all the potential abuse far outweighs any kind of usefulness this idea has. I got continuously tagged for whatever reason and it annoyed the hell out of me; I simply find this concept in fact extremely rude as it's almost like people are breathing into your face. You can force countless of people to the threads you want way too easy. There is no merit in that and considering that it's so easy to abuse, I say no.

You can even receive infractions if you start spamming people's profiles with links to threads if they are annoyed by it. This system pretty much does exactly the same, only far easier and on a much larger scale.

You also take the fun out of browsing the forums when people start dictating where you should be. People would start using this to get people to their threads, so imagine when many people start doing it and then I'm still talking about normal members, not trolls. Those could simply write your name in every post they make.

Barely any - I don't even see any - positive sides and easily abused, so I'm against it. And whether we decide this democratically or not is likewise decided by us, so in the end we are the ones who decide. Seriously is now already too difficult to browse a forum?

What about a tagging limit? Like: I can't tag more than 5 users on my thread?

Congratulations on being yet another person who fails to understand the concept of the search bar/function.

This has been suggested/asked many times already.

Relax bro, it was only suggested 2 times for the whole past year, and I'm only 2014 member therefore I cannot possibly know anything that happened before that. search system only supports results from a year.

No mode gave an answer to this question in both of these threads(the only 2 results that came after the search) whic is why I asked. Lol

so chill man.
