So, Blackbeard isn't the only character based on Blackbeard, and this gives me reason to believe he will have a third Devil Fruit, a Zoan.
Blackbeard, also known as Edward Thatch:
We know of three characters based upon him, and it's no coincidence that all of their powers are now culminated into the third character:
Edward Newgate:
He shares his first name, has an epithet with the word "beard", and his second name, "Newgate", was a prison in which Blackbeard was held at one point in his career of Piracy
His Gura Gura no Mi has now been obtained by Blackbeard through some means
Thatch :
Named after the real Blackbeards second name, he plays a minor role, but his Devil Fruit was eaten by Teach.
Marshall D. Teach :
Aka Blackbeard (therefore obviously based on Edward Thatch), is named after another one of his nicknames too, "Teach" which is what he's commonly known as today, he also has a similar appearance e.g. beard, hat, number of guns etc., he obtained the powers of his two counterparts, on the same ship - this will be very important later
Is it coincidental that both characters lost their powers to Blackbeard? Nah. We know that Blackbeard has been devil fruit hunting for his crew, and I attribute this to a search of a particular Zoan fruit.
The reason he obtained both of his powers from the same crew is important because his third fruit will come from there too. We know he's been taking Whitebeards old territories, and, considering Burgess was after the Mera Mera no Mi, it's highly likely he's been hunting the Whitebeard Pirates' Devil Fruits.
"But surely getting Aces fruit is just a coincidence, or shows he still wants "Ace" in his crew like beforehand, right?", wrong. There has been plenty of foreshadowing which also hints at this. For example, we also know Blackbeard is likely to be the final Villain, or at least the last Pirate Villain. This being said, the Straw Hats and Blackbeard Pirates must match eachother. Now, this is off topic, but considering the foreshadowing here:
, and the fact Zoro wishes to surpass Mihawk who couldn't cut Jozu
, it foreshadows a high likelihood that Shilliew will eat Jozus diamond fruit, when he wins he will have truly surpassed Mihawk. Amazingly, he's also a member of the Whitebeard Pirates.
Whitebeard, Thatch, Ace, Jozu, Whitebeards territories... this is too much to be a coincidence
It must also be a coincidence that Blackbeard just happens to not have a Zoan fruit, and it also just happens that the last remaining WB pirates Devil Fruit yet to be addressed in any way by Oda is also this same fruit. It must also be a coincidence that the devil fruit allows Blackbeard to heal and regenerate as if a logia, whereas his Yami Yami no Mi is particular and doesn't have this ability. By consuming this fruit Blackbeard would truly nullify his biggest weakness:
So BB will get Marco's Phoenix fruit (Jozu's fruit also suits him, but it's better for Shilliew)
