First off, I'll say it, ending 33 is amazing, my favorite right up there with ending 28. What I like about it is at, just as with 28 we see the world from Obito's perspective, ending 33 goes ahead and shows us the world from Madara's point of view, and it sucks. Wars, violence, hatred, loss, and I like the symbolism of showing the ninja all with black eyes, and even better, how the end kind of shows us how Madara views himself, as the hero saving the world, with the ninja attacking him appearing like villainous mooks, really, it's a great ending, however, on to the main topic.
Okay, so the reason I said it sounds like a love letter to Hashirama is mostly because of the lyrics, here:
You’re not alone;
There’s nothing for you to fear,
So let’s go – open up your eyes!
We were butting heads… when we really just wanted to catch up to one another:
Hurt Each other, seeking bonds to tie us together.
“I’m sorry”, please don’t forget – believe in me and wait for me…
…‘Cause I’m coming to see you!
Oh flame of courage, light up my weakness!
If I can share my scars… my pain… I’ll be just fine.
The promise you made that pushes you along,
Creates a bond, sleeping in your heart,
That you can always rely upon, even when we’re apart.
Not to mention the one part with Senju and Uchiha warring, with Madara and Hashirama reaching out, very reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. What do you think?
