Considering the world think it's Smoker who defeated Crocodile, and knowing Smoker's personality(detest lies), he probably consider it as a shame, so do you think for it to be completely washed away from his mind, he'd make the "lie" a reality by capturing him once and for all now that Crocodile escaped from Impel Down?

Basically a Crocodile vs Smoker version2. If it happens, how would the most overrated character of all time manage himself out of this? How would he fare?

Dude, both of them are underrated if anything. Assuming Crocodile has Haki, having been in the New World this whole time I reckon a tie or an incredibly lengthy extreme diff victory for either side

We saw what he could do without Haki at Marineford, although in short spats, he faired quite well off from multiple fights with high-top tiers and even recovered from a haki infused Jozu charging into his face, his endurance trumps Smokers

The only fight that Croc was in that wouldn't turn into a short, one-sided slaughter in which he was on the receiving end, were it not for the opponents getting interrupted and leaving, was against Akainu, who was also fighting all of the division commanders at the same time. Croc took one hit from Jozu, who probably wasn't even going all out, while Smoker took multiple hits from Vergo and Vergo's strongest attack.

If you add haki to Crocodile then the fight could go either way and whoever wins but critically injured.
Assuming Crocodile does not have haki then I'll give it to Smoker, although he will still face huge difficulty.

Post TS Smoker would beat pre-ts croc mid diff, lack of haki and physical abilites are what crocodile misses in the fight while smoker is a proficient haki user and pretty good when it comes to physical abilities and speed, dont go around spouting crap like "smoker is shit, lol" ur making yourself look like a clown, he has been fighting though opponents since the TS, and then there are people who still compare the GL and NW.

Is this really being considered? For one going by facts Crocodile has no CoA Haki feats while Smoker does...hell at this point Bellemy has a legit chance against Crocodile.

However 'if' Crocodile does have CoA it doesn't really change that much...for example Crocodile was defeated by a pre Gear 2nd Luffy...who during Marineford was only just able to keep up with Smoker with Gear 2nd. Now Smoker has the advantage with his seastone Jitte making Crocodile's logia abilities negated.
