[Adventure] Succulent Delight

I'm preparing a poem,
Honest and from my heart;
Eat these words for dinner,
More delicious than any à la carte.

First they need to be shucked;
And then picked apart,
Keep only the most yum yum bits,
And get rid of all the chaff.

Pour in one cup of metaphors,
Some veiling and innuendo to taste,
And keep all of the spare ingredients;
You don't want 'em to go to waste.

Now it needs to bake,
To a lovely golden-brown crust,
It needs to look tempting on the plate;
So readers may wish to partake.

If you follow the recipe;
The poetry can be enjoyed,
Just be patient and smart,
And it will emphasize those
Opulent flavors of your heart.​
