The Wii U is Nintendo's next gen console though, they just released it earlier to try and get a jump on sales. The original wii is the same gen as ps3 and 360.

But of course the full potential of the hardware hasn't been used yet says Nintendo, but it's the same gen as PS4 and XOne.

I never knew i always asumed it was to be competition with ps3 & 360 if that's the case they've done horrible against ps4,xbox1, and Steam Consoles i know nintendo already mentioned there new system call Nintendo NX hope it does well if not R.l.P Nintendo.

Yeah but playstation also said they are working on the ps5 but that doesn't mean it'll come out anytime soon. I'm pretty sure the NX concept is for the gen after this. But I also kind of hope they do release it, Nintendo needs a stronger system.
