I'm the type of person that won't go unless I have a date.

I'm debating over asking the girl that I like for a lot of reasons, but usually I find it's better to go ahead and just ask, if this is your problem, know that the worst thing that could happen is that she says no but feels good that you have asked her (unless you are annoying or something to her)

Just some questions you should ask yourself before making that decision. I didn't go to my prom despite having a date but my girl was going through a rough time and I myself didn't care about the people in my school. I had friends, just didn't like them enough to the point where I thought I would enjoy myself. I also didn't like social events at the time but I don't regret it. At the same time though, I don't think I would have regretted going.

Edit: My prom was 3 years ago and no regret to date. Just to give you more insight.

Hell yeah, I definitely agree with this. OP, if you're the kind of guy who likes parties and whatnot, definitely enjoy the weekend of prom and go to a party or two. Didn't go to prom but I had to go to a party or two (where I knew my good friends would be). Definitely another decision I did not regret.

Nope, I never went to mine. $80-$100 for one night? Lol especially with some random date, waste lol. I was pretty happy that I didn't go because most people who went to prom said it was awful. I guess it depends where your prom is taking place or if you're bringing your gf there or not (not some random girl).

Do I regret it? No, I do regret not seeing some of the ladies in my class in dresses but that's all.

Nope, I doubt it. I didn't want to go because it wasn't my scene; I hate parties and crowded places, especially when it's mostly strangers. But then I got interested in asking someone, asked them, and they said yes. Basically, unless you have a personal tie to it, it's probably something you won't regret.

The only thing I hated about Prom was that it was pretty damn expensive, but I still enjoyed it. Of course if you're not friends with many of your classmates and don't have a date I can see why you would skip it. Hell if I didn't have my dates, I would definitely not have went my junior and senior year, because its pretty humiliating to go to Prom by yourself Lol.
