He also said that his stance is full of openings
Full body hassoken would be a vibrating field of armor enhancing his attacks and covers his openings as a defense

It also answers why he didnt use it on noah
He just figured it out.

The Gears have to deal with Luffy's DF. I do wish for it to be Haki related, but full body any kind of Haki is not gonna make it a Gear :|

I misinterpreted it too lol. Hassoken would be interesting because luffy figured out gear 2 by fighting CP9 and seeing soru (shave) although I would hope that luffy figured this out during his two years of training.

Same with Soru actually. Luffy just saw it, and tried it, then made Gear 2 so his body could exert the physical effort needed to do it.

I doubt he did it with Hassoken though. Luffy was able to see CP9 kicking the ground ten times in less than a second to do it, but Hassoken doesn't seem like it has an obvious physical giveaway that allows anyone to use it, not to mention it seems like Sai awakened it, implying it's more than just something you achieve via training.
