Yhwach's name actually means god.

In the old testament he (God) is called YHWH. The Hebrew language had no vocals, that's why people nowadays added some. The best known name is Jehova, but there are other translations like "Yahve".

Also the name "YHWH" means "to be". This also reflects Yhwach's character, as he always wants to be the soul king, or is the almighty.

If you take a look at this name from a German perspective, there's also the word "awake" (ger: wach) in there, which also plays a role in his character. (Opening his eyes, recovering, etc.)
