Why is Hamura on the Moon if Gedo can easily be summoned?

I think the whole lore was to give meaning to our actual moon that rotates earth.

The process is something we've seen several times when Pain tried to capture naruto in kyuubi state with Chibaku Tensei.

I think when Hagoromo sealed Juubi's chakra inside himself the statue still have destructive power and that's when they incased him in rock formation and sent him to the moon.

I agree with you tho, they could have had a shrine on earth because the statue could slip from under their fingers..
I believe they also said they would destroy the earth if it ever got free but like... Where the hell were they when Juubito, i mean Juubidara, I mean kaguya was wrecking havoc.

The moon was created as the seal for the Gedo. But the Gedo isn't easily summoned. If that was the case then it would have been summoned prior to Madara doing it......

Nobody ever knew that Madara's Rinnegan could bypass the Chibaku Tensei seal. Madara only mentioned it to Obito, but Obito never gave the information to Naruto and Sasuke. So, pretty much nobody alive at that point (Kaguya's fall, I mean) knew about this. Black Zetsu also knew this but he got sealed away in Chibaku Tensei.

How did Hamura die ? Why did he die ? How can a Person who inherited the God Tree's power which would make you immortal (Kaguya and Madara being examples) die ? The same also applies to Hagoromo. We are yet to get an explanation from Kishi on what happened to Hagoromo and Hamura.

2 others before Madara... actually Obito did, I'm sure madara could have been it has never been shown him summoning Gedo.
But I believe we might have seen it in his chambers when he was really old attached to the tree.

Died of old age, even Hagoromo died. Kaguya only is immortal because she has the actual holy tree in her. Inheritors don't necessarily get that perk. Also hamura tenseigon became the tenseigon weapon that was supposed to protect his people.

So would it be the most accurate assumption to say that whilst Hamura was alive and kicking the Gedo Statue was safe and secure inside the moon?

We understand that only someone using a Rinnegan can control it which makes a lot of sense. The only person during that time was Hagoromo.

We see black zetsu trying to make Indra activate the Rinnegan but as far as we know he failed.

If Indra would have succeeded at activating the rinnegan. Do you think he could have summoned the Gedo it from the moon?
